  • Magic's Jonathan Isaac: Expected to play Sunday

Isaac (hamstring) is listed as probable for Sunday's game versus the Wizards. Isaac injured his hamstring against the Pelicans but is expected to suit up Sunday. If he's upgraded to available, Isaac should continue to operate as a bench option in Orlando's forward rotation.

  • Magic's Jonathan Isaac: Questionable to return

Isaac is considered questionable to return to Friday's game versus the Pelicans due to right hamstring tightness. Isaac compiled 10 points (4-4 FG) and two rebounds across nine minutes before leaving the game. Given Isaac's history of lower-body injuries, the Magic will most likely err on the side of caution and hold him out for the rest of the contest.

  • Magic's Jonathan Isaac: Plays well in return from hip issue

Isaac (hip) logged 14 minutes off the bench and tallied eight points (2-5 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, one assist and one steal in Wednesday's 102-99 loss to the Bulls. Isaac produced solid per-minute numbers in his return to the court following a three-game absence due to a left hip contusion. While Isaac and Moritz Wagner should continue to operate as the Magic's primary backup big men moving forward, Isaac's lengthy injury history could deter Orlando from scaling up his minutes dramatically, even once he becomes further removed from the hip issue. Between his 65 appearances in the regular season and postseason in 2023-24, Isaac topped 25 minutes on just four occasions.

  • Magic's Jonathan Isaac: Will play Wednesday

Isaac (hip) will be available for Wednesday's game against Chicago. Isaac has been cleared to play for the first time since injuring his hip in Orlando's season-opening win over the Heat on Oct. 23. With Isaac back in the fold, Jett Howard could be bumped from the rotation, though the Magic are likely to be cautious with Isaac's minutes count coming off a three-game absence.

  • Magic's Jonathan Isaac: Questionable for Wednesday

Isaac (hip) is questionable for Wednesday's game against the Bulls. Isaac may miss a fourth straight game, but he's reportedly nearing his return to game action. If he remains sidelined, Gary Harris, Cole Anthony and Jett Howard would be candidates for slightly more minutes.

  • Magic's Jonathan Isaac: Ruled out Monday

Isaac (hip) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Pacers. Isaac will miss a third straight game but is getting closer to a return. In his lone appearance this season, Isaac logged three points (1-4 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 0-2 FT), three rebounds, two blocks and one steal across 11 minutes off the bench. In his absence, Gary Harris, Cole Anthony and Jett Howard have been given chances off the bench.

  • Magic's Jonathan Isaac: Considered a game-time call

Isaac (hip) will be considered a game-time decision Monday against the Pacers, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports. Isaac is "doing better," but the Magic will re-evaluate his status after warmups. In his lone appearance this season, Isaac logged three points (1-4 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 0-2 FT), three rebounds, two blocks and one steal across 11 minutes off the bench.

  • Magic's Jonathan Isaac: Listed questionable for Monday

Isaac (hip) is questionable for Monday's game against the Pacers. Isaac is in jeopardy of missing a third consecutive game due to a left hip contusion. The 27-year-old left the regular-season opener against Miami on Wednesday early after logging only 11 minutes. If Isaac is ruled out, Moritz Wagner would likely see extra playing time.

  • Magic's Jonathan Isaac: Ruled out Saturday

Isaac (hip) is out for Saturday's game against the Grizzlies. A left hip contusion has prevented Isaac from playing again after logging just 11 minutes in the season opener Wednesday against the Heat, during which he posted three points and three rebounds. As such, the towering forward will have to keep waiting for his moment to return to the court. His next chance to play will come against the Pacers on Monday.

  • Magic's Jonathan Isaac: Iffy against Memphis

Isaac (hip) is listed as questionable for Saturday's game versus the Grizzlies. Isaac is in danger of missing his second straight contest Saturday while recovering from left hip soreness. Availability has been an issue throughout Isaac's career, as he hasn't made more than 60 regular-season appearances since 2018-19.

  • Magic's Jonathan Isaac: Iffy against Brooklyn

Isaac (hip) is listed as questionable for Friday's game versus the Nets. Isaac left Wednesday's regular-season opener early due to left hip soreness and was unable to return. If Isaac is forced to miss Friday's contest, the Magic could turn to Caleb Houstan or Tristan da Silva to pick up minutes off the bench at forward.

  • Magic's Jonathan Isaac: Exits with sore hip

Isaac won't return to Wednesday's game against the Heat due to left hip soreness. Isaac logged 11 minutes off the bench and finished with three points (1-4 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 0-2 FT), three rebounds, two blocks and one steal. The 27-year-old forward can be viewed as day-to-day until the Magic provide an update on his status, but given his history of being a slow healer, Isaac could be unlikely to play Friday against Brooklyn in the first leg of a back-to-back set.

  • Magic's Jonathan Isaac: Tallies three defensive stats

Isaac produced five points (2-3 FG, 1-1 3PT), two blocks and one steal in seven minutes during Friday's 114-99 preseason win over Philadelphia. Isaac played limited minutes off the bench but still managed to have a sizeable impact on the defensive end. Now fully healthy, Isaac has been able to put together an injury-free preseason for the first time in what feels like forever. The Magic are unlikely to extend him too much, something that does put a cap on his overall value. With that said, he is one of the most enigmatic fantasy players typically available late in drafts. If you can afford to take a chance, he is worth considering just in case he can cobble together a consistent 20-minute role.

  • Magic's Jonathan Isaac: Staying in Orlando

Isaac and the Magic agreed to a five-year, $84 million contract renegotiation and extension Tuesday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. Isaac has spent the first five years of his career in Orlando and is now set to spend another five with the franchise. In 2023-24, the 26-year-old forward averaged 6.8 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.2 blocks in 15.8 minutes across 58 regular-season appearances. While availability has always been an issue for Isaac, he is one of the NBA's best and most versatile defenders when on the floor.

  • Magic's Jonathan Isaac: Won't start Game 7

Isaac won't start Sunday's Game 7 against the Cavaliers, Philip Rossman-Reich of OrlandoMagicDaily.com reports. With Gary Harris (hamstring) returning to the starting lineup after missing Game 6, Isaac will revert to a reserve role. Across three appearances off the bench during the opening-round series, Isaac has averaged 9.7 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.0 blocks in 19.3 minutes per game.

  • Magic's Jonathan Isaac: Will start Game 6

Isaac will start Friday's Game 6 against the Cavaliers, Cody Taylor of USA Today reports. Isaac started the first two games of the opening-round series at center but returned to the bench with Orlando facing an 0-2 hole. He'll move back into the starting lineup Friday in place of Gary Harris (hamstring). Isaac has averaged 8.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.6 blocks and 1.0 steals in 21.4 minutes over the first five games of the series.

  • Magic's Jonathan Isaac: Strong outing off bench

Isaac finished with 14 points (5-7 FG, 4-6 3Pt), seven rebounds, one assist, two blocks and one steal over 20 minutes during Saturday's 112-89 victory over Cleveland in Game 4 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs. Isaac delivered his best outing of the postseason, and Wendell Carter played well as a starter, so it's safe to assume both players will stick in their current roles after swapping places to start the postseason. Across four postseason games against Cleveland, Isaac has averaged 8.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.0 blocks and 1.3 steals in 21.3 minutes.

  • Magic's Jonathan Isaac: Won't start Game 3

Isaac is not in the starting lineup to face the Cavaliers on Thursday, Josh Robbins of The Athletic reports. Isaac started the first two games of the series, averaging 6.5 points and 4.5 rebounds across 24.5 minutes per contest, but he'll head back to the bench for Game 3. Wendell Carter will get the nod in the frontcourt alongside Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner.

  • Magic's Jonathan Isaac: Limited impact in spot start

Isaac had 10 points (3-8 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, one assist, three blocks and three steals in 29 minutes during Saturday's 97-83 loss to the Cavaliers in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals. This was Isaac's second start of the season, and while he posted better numbers than Wendell Carter, Isaac had a rough outing from the field while dealing with the defensive presence of Jarrett Allen. Given how outmatched Carter looked in limited minutes, Isaac could remain in the starting unit for Game 2 of the series Monday.

  • Magic's Jonathan Isaac: Starting Game 1

Isaac will start at center in Saturday's Game 1 matchup with the Cavaliers. The Magic will start the season the same way they ended it, as Isaac has replaced Wendell Carter in the starting lineup. The latter was nursing back pain towards the end of the regular season, so it remains unclear if this is simply injury-related or a concerted decision on Orlando's part to keep Isaac in the starting lineup going forward. The 26-year-old averaged 6.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 1.5 blocks across 17.0 minutes in two starts this season.
