  • Raptors' Davion Mitchell: Coming off bench Saturday

Mitchell is not in the Raptors' starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Clippers, Law Murray of The Athletic reports. Mitchell has been in Toronto's starting lineup over the last eight regular-season games, which coincides with the absence of Immanuel Quickley (pelvis). Quickley will play on a minutes restriction Saturday, so Mitchell should see decent playing time in a reserve role. In the eight games he started in, Mitchell averaged 10.3 points, 6.8 assists, 2.5 rebounds and 1.0 steals over 30.1 minutes per game.

  • Raptors' Davion Mitchell: Logs 20 points against former team

Mitchell supplied 20 points (8-11 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds, six assists and one steal across 32 minutes during Wednesday's 122-107 loss to the Kings. Mitchell spent three seasons with the Kings, and his efficient shooting night highlighted the familiarity with his former teammates. Although Mitchell has been an adequate replacement, Immanuel Quickley's (pelvis) return is imminent. Mitchell will revert to the second unit once Quickley is back up to speed, but he'll be viable for at least one more game.

  • Raptors' Davion Mitchell: Dishes out seven assists

Mitchell supplied four points (2-6 FG, 0-2 3Pt), four rebounds, seven assists and five steals in 37 minutes during Saturday's 131-128 overtime win over the Kings. Mitchell put together one of his worst scoring performances of the young campaign, but he salvaged his night by tallying seven assists and a season-high five steals in the victory. It's also worth noting that he committed five turnovers, an area he'll need to clean up to remain relevant in the rotation once Immanuel Quickley (pelvis) returns to play. Overall, Mitchell has fared well in Quickley's absence and is averaging 8.2 points, 2.7 rebounds, 6.7 assists and 1.0 steals over six straight starts.

  • Raptors' Davion Mitchell: Productive with starters

Mitchell amassed 16 points (5-10 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 3-4 FT), two rebounds, six assists and one block in 35 minutes during Monday's 127-125 overtime loss to the Nuggets. Immanuel Quickley (hip) is still out with a pelvis injury, though he is presumably day-to-day. Mitchell has three starts under his belt as a result, posting averages of 8.0 points, 5.7 assists, 2.3 rebounds and 1.7 three-pointers.

  • Raptors' Davion Mitchell: Getting starting nod

Mitchell is in the starting lineup for Friday's game versus the 76ers, Ryan Wolstat of the Toronto Sun reports. Mitchell will replace Immanuel Quickley (pelvis) in the starting five Friday. With RJ Barrett (shoulder) also out, Mitchell and Scottie Barnes should share primary playmaking duties against Philadelphia.

  • Raptors' Davion Mitchell: Retreats to bench Friday

Mitchell will slide back to the bench in Friday's preseason finale against the Nets, Blake Murphy of Sportsnet.ca reports. With Immanuel Quickley (thumb) making his return to game action, Mitchell will return to his role off the bench. The 26-year-old is expected to play a significant role in the club's second unit in the backcourt behind Quickley and Gradey Dick.

  • Raptors' Davion Mitchell: Dishes 10 assists Tuesday

Mitchell scored nine pints (3-7 FG, 3-6 3Pt) while adding 10 assists, three rebounds and a steal in 31 minutes during Tuesday's 119-118 preseason win over the Celtics. Getting the start at point guard with Immanuel Quickley (thumb) sidelined, Mitchell continues to build his case for a significant role with Toronto. The Raptors have a young backcourt that includes Gradey Dick (13th overall pick in 2023) and Ja'Kobe Walter (19th overall in 2024), and Mitchell -- the ninth overall pick in 2021, now getting a fresh start after three seasons on the Kings' bench -- could fit right in.

  • Raptors' Davion Mitchell: Struggles in starting role

Mitchell produced three points (1-3 FG, 1-2 FT), six assists and four rebounds in 27 minutes during Friday's preseason loss to the Wizards. Mitchell logged a team-high 27 minutes in the loss but failed to produce much in the scoring column. While the six assists are nice, he is basically a non-factor on the offensive end, and for a defensive-minded player, his efforts don't translate to fantasy value. Assuming the Raptors are healthy come Opening Night, Mitchell has little chance of putting up standard-league value.

  • Raptors' Davion Mitchell: Returns to game Sunday

Mitchell returned to Sunday's preseason game against the Wizards. Mitchell briefly exited the game with a suspected hamstring injury but was able to return to action. The fourth-year pro may see increased usage for the remainder of the game with RJ Barrett (shoulder) done for the night.

  • Raptors' Davion Mitchell: Heads to locker room Sunday

Mitchell went back to the locker room during Sunday's preseason game against the Wizards, Josh Lewenberg of TSN.ca reports. Mitchell was hobbled for a few possessions before exiting the game with a suspected hamstring injury. Jamal Shead will likely see extra run while Mitchell is sidelined.

  • Raptors' Davion Mitchell: Starting Sunday

Mitchell will start Sunday's preseason game against the Wizards, Josh Lewenberg of TSN.ca reports. Mitchell will get an increased workload to begin the preseason with Scottie Barnes (personal) and Immanuel Quickley (thumb) sidelined. The fourth-year pro will need to make the most of his opportunities to find a significant role with his new team.

  • Raptors' Davion Mitchell: Heading to Toronto

Mitchell, Sasha Vezenkov and the No. 45 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft were traded from the Kings to the Raptors in exchange for Jalen McDaniels on Thursday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. Mitchell maintained a consistent bench role for the Kings during the 2023-24 campaign, averaging 5.3 points, 1.9 assists and 1.3 rebounds in 15.3 minutes per game over 72 regular-season appearances. He should provide a defensive punch off the bench with his new team during the 2024-25 season.

  • Kings' Davion Mitchell: Quiet in 22 minutes

Mitchell closed with eight points (3-10 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 1-1 FT), one rebound and two assists in 22 minutes during Tuesday's 112-105 loss to Oklahoma City. Mitchell wasn't able to generate much offensively, while Keon Ellis erupted for a career-high 26 points. Despite this quiet showing, Mitchell is still having a decent April, posting averages of 10.4 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.8 three-pointers through five games.

  • Kings' Davion Mitchell: Scores 14 points from bench

Mitchell ended Tuesday's 109-95 victory over the Clippers with 14 points (5-10 FG, 4-7 3Pt), four rebounds and three assists in 25 minutes. The Kings have opted for Keon Ellis in the first unit amid Kevin Huerter's (shoulder) absence, but the loss of Malik Monk (knee) is a clear indication that Mitchell's role will increase. There's some potential further down the depth chart, but the third-year pro is battle-tested and perfect as a spark plug for the Kings as they make a final playoff push.

  • Kings' Davion Mitchell: Adds season-high 18 points off pine

Mitchell closed with 18 points (6-9 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 3-4 FT) and two rebounds in 25 minutes during Monday's 108-96 victory over the 76ers. The Kings have had to contend with Kevin Huerter's (shoulder) season-ending injury, and while Keon Ellis has played the fill-in role with the first unit, Mitchell is in line for a minutes increase as the regular season draws to a close. Malik Monk is probably the best candidate for boosted production in this scenario, but the former Baylor Bear deserves some fantasy consideration after lingering on the bench for most of the season.

  • Kings' Davion Mitchell: Available Sunday

Mitchell (chest) is available for Sunday's game against the Rockets, James Ham of ESPN 1320 Sacramento reports. Mitchell will shake off a questionable tag and suit up despite chest soreness. The backup guard has appeared in 21 straight games (one start) and is averaging 5.8 points, 1.6 assists and 1.2 rebounds in 15.4 minutes during that stretch.

  • Kings' Davion Mitchell: Questionable with chest soreness

Mitchell is questionable for Sunday's game against the Rockets with right chest soreness. Mitchell's status won't have a big impact in fantasy hoops, as he's played an average of 16.8 minutes across four March appearances. Keon Ellis could pick up a handful of minutes if Mitchell is held out.

  • Kings' Davion Mitchell: Ties season scoring high

Mitchell finished with 16 points (7-8 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds and two assists across 25 minutes off the bench during Friday's 124-120 overtime victory over the Timberwolves. De'Aaron Fox (knee) missed a second straight game Friday, but rather than getting a second straight start in his place, Mitchell moved back to the second unit and gave way to Keon Ellis. The move seemed to agree with Mitchell, who tied his season scoring high and scored in double digits for only the second time in the last 16 games. The third-year guard's lack of consistency makes him tough to roster even in deep fantasy leagues.

  • Kings' Davion Mitchell: Coming off bench

Mitchell will come off the bench for Friday's game against the Timberwolves, Alan Horton of the Timberwolves Radio Network reports. De'Aaron Fox (knee) is out again Friday, but the Kings are rolling with Keon Ellis as their starting point guard. Mitchell had a quiet showing Wednesday versus the Nuggets, scoring five points with three assists on 2-of-5 shooting in 16 minutes.

  • Kings' Davion Mitchell: Officially set to start

Mitchell is in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Nuggets, Jason Anderson of The Sacramento Bee reports. As expected, Mitchell will replace De'Aaron Fox (knee) in the starting five Wednesday. However, Mitchell has scored double-digit points in only one of his previous three starts this season.
