  • Bulls' Tobe Awaka: Probable for Wednesday

Awaka (knee) is probable for Wednesday's game against the Raptors. Awaka remains day-to-day with his knee sprain. With Nicolas Claxton (hamstring) sidelined to open the season, Awaka could be in the mix at the edge of the rotation.

  • Bulls' Tobe Awaka: Ruled out for Friday

Awaka (knee) is out for Friday's preseason finale versus Minnesota, K.C. Johnson of Chicago Sports Network reports. Awaka will miss Chicago's final two preseason games due to the knee injury, but for what it's worth, head coach Tiago Splitter said he's "close" to a return. The Bulls open their season on Oct. 21 in Toronto, and for now, Awaka should be considered questionable for that one.

  • Bulls' Tobe Awaka: Nursing knee issue

Awaka (knee) didn't practice Tuesday, per K.C. Johnson of Chicago Sports Network. Awaka banged his knee in Friday's preseason game against Memphis. The undrafted rookie can be deemed questionable for Wednesday's exhibition versus the Bucks.

  • Bulls' Tobe Awaka: Slotted to bench

Awaka will come off the bench during Sunday's preseason game against the Nuggets. Awaka will shift back to a reserve role due to Jalen Smith (foot) returning to the lineup. The Arizona product was held scoreless for 24 minutes during Friday's preseason game against the Grizzlies.

  • Bulls' Tobe Awaka: Starting vs. Memphis

Awaka will start Friday's preseason game against the Grizzlies. Nic Claxton (hamstring), Zach Collins (toe) and Jalen Smith (foot) are all unavailable, opening the door for Awaka to enter the starting five. The 22-year-old was highly productive in Wednesday's preseason-opening win over the Suns, recording 14 points, 11 rebounds, a steal and a block in 21 minutes.

  • Bulls' Tobe Awaka: Scores 12 points in loss

Awaka finished with 12 points (5-5 FG, 1-2 FT), three rebounds and one block over 19 minutes in Thursday's 105-82 Summer League loss to the Lakers. Awaka had a double-double in Tuesday's 99-87 Summer League victory over Washington. He wasn't as productive Thursday, but he still managed to record his second consecutive double-digit scoring performance in Las Vegas. The 22-year-old is currently signed to a two-way deal with the Bulls. Although Awaka could see some action with the parent club during the 2026-27 campaign, he is expected to spend most of his time in the G League.

  • Bulls' Tobe Awaka: Agrees to two-way deal with CHI

Awaka has agreed to a two-way contract with the Bulls, Joel Lorenzi of The Athletic reports. Despite being undersized at 6-foot-8, Awaka is a terrific rebounder who plays with a lot of grit on defense. He still has a lot of room to grow on offense, though, so he'll likely be a project for the Bulls this season, spending most of his time in the G League.
