Top Tristan Vukcevic News

  • Wizards' Tristan Vukcevic: Tallies five steals in win

Vukcevic (illness) finished with 12 points (4-7 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, five steals, one assist and one block across 17 minutes during Thursday's 112-105 win over the Pacers.

Back in action after missing the Wizards' final game before the All-Star break due to an illness, Vukcevic stepped into the starting five in place of Alex Sarr (calf), who is headed for an extended absence. Vukcevic rewarded any fantasy managers who picked up off the waiver wire by delivering a career-high steal total, but the Wizards' decision to suppress his minutes prevented him from turning in an even bigger stat line. He didn't play the final 18 minutes, as the 15-39 Wizards had built a lead and seemingly held out most of their key players down the stretch in an effort to lose the game and improve their draft-lottery odds. Washington will likely continue to have volatile rotations the rest of the season that will make predicting the playing time for all members of the roster a difficult endeavor from game to game, but Vukcevic showed Thursday that if he can at least get 15-to-20 minutes, he could still provide plenty of fantasy value.

  • Wizards' Tristan Vukcevic: Won't play Wednesday

Vukcevic (illness) is out for Wednesday's game against the Cavaliers.

This is bad news for a Washington team that might also be without Alex Sarr (questionable, hamstring). With that in mind, Anthony Gill could see a sizable workload for the Wizards on Wednesday.

Vukcevic is questionable to play Wednesday against the Cavaliers due to an illness.

Vukcevic was not on the injury report until this morning, indicating that his availability for Wednesday's game may be in jeopardy. If he is ultimately unable to go, Anthony Gill (hand) and Will Riley will likely see extended playing time as a result.

  • Wizards' Tristan Vukcevic: Scores 14 off bench in loss

Vukcevic logged 14 points (5-11 FG, 4-5 3Pt), five rebounds and two assists in 20 minutes during Sunday's 132-101 loss to the Heat.

Vukcevic returned to a bench role after starting Saturday but produced a similar result, totaling exactly 14 points for a third straight game. After entering this stretch shooting just 20.0 percent from beyond the arc across 30 appearances, the big man has caught fire from deep, converting 61.5 percent of his three-point attempts on 13 tries over the past three contests. With the Wizards moving on from Marvin Bagley at the trade deadline, Vukcevic now has a clear path to operating as the primary backup center behind Alex Sarr.

  • Wizards' Tristan Vukcevic: Questionable for Sunday

Vukcevic is questionable for Sunday's game against Miami with right knee soreness.

Alex Sarr is sitting out the front end of this back-to-back set with ankle soreness. • Wizards' Tristan Vukcevic: Excellent numbers in limited run

Vukcevic (hamstring) posted 14 points (5-7 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 1-1 FT), three rebounds, three assists, two blocks and one steal across 11 minutes Thursday in the Wizards' 126-117 win over the Pistons.

Making his return from a 10-game absence due to a sore left knee and left hamstring strain, Vukcevic settled into the Washington rotation and provided stellar per-minute production during his limited time on the court. With the Wizards moving Marvin Bagley ahead of the trade deadline, Vukcevic should have a fairly clear path to the primary backup role behind starting center Alex Sarr moving forward. Vukcevic showed Thursday that even in light playing time, he's capable of putting up strong numbers, but he'll probably need to move into a more consistent 20-minute role before fantasy managers can have a greater amount of trust in him as a back-end roster option in 12-team category leagues.
