Mavericks' Zaccharie Risacher: Fitting in well with Mavs
Risacher is adjusting well to his new team and is looking forward to playing alongside Cooper Flagg, Grant Afseth of the Dallas Sports Journal reports.
Risacher has been adjusting well after being traded from the Hawks to the Mavericks in July, and he noted Thursday that he's confident his style will mesh well with Flagg. "I feel like we're going to be a good fit, especially in this team. We're going to play fast. We want to go," said Risacher. "We're going to play physical, and I feel like that's going to be a good fit. I like to play off-ball too, so I feel like just me being able to get to the right spot, get space, and finish those actions, that's going to be a big thing."

Mavericks' Zaccharie Risacher: Dealt to Dallas
Risacher was traded to the Mavericks on Sunday as part of a three-team deal that sent Luguentz Dort and Ryan Nembhard (illness) to the Hawks and three second-round picks to the Thunder, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
After being selected No. 1 overall in the 2024 NBA Draft, Risacher's tenure in Atlanta comes to an end as he'll head to Dallas. In 67 regular-season games (46 starts) with the Hawks during the 2025-26 campaign, the wing averaged 9.6 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 22.4 minutes per contest. Risacher still has much to prove heading into his third NBA season and will likely slot into a reserve role with the Mavericks, competing with the likes of Klay Thompson, Naji Marshall and Santi Aldama for playing time.

Hawks' Zaccharie Risacher: Role in rotation murky
The addition of Aaron Wiggins could further cut into Risacher's role during the 2026-27 season.
Risacher's minutes declined each month after January last season, and he was eventually demoted to the second unit after CJ McCollum solidified himself as a starter. Risacher was not a consistent part of the playoff rotation, and now he'll face even more competition for minutes following the arrival of Wiggins. The former No. 1 overall pick's long-term role with the franchise is murky at best.

Hawks' Zaccharie Risacher: Plays in garbage time of big loss
Risacher finished Thursday's 140-89 loss to New York in Game 6 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs with eight points (4-9 FG, 0-3 3Pt) and three rebounds across 16 minutes.
Though he saw his most playing time since the Hawks' regular-season finale April 12, Risacher didn't check into the game until the start of the second half, when Atlanta was already trailing by 47 points. The Game 6 loss brings an end to a disappointing second season for the 2024 No. 1 overall pick, who saw his numbers mostly hold steady across the board from his rookie campaign but saw a drop in usage from 21.6 percent to 17.7 percent while Atlanta fielded a more competitive roster. Risascher could re-enter the rotation to begin the 2026-27 season, but the Hawks are unlikely to count on him to fill a significant role.

Risacher had zero points (0-3 FG) and four rebounds over two minutes during Saturday's 113-102 loss to New York in Game 1 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
Risacher barely saw the court, failing to score in three minutes. Despite his draft pedigree, Risacher has seemingly fallen out of favor in Atlanta, averaging just 15.7 minutes per game in 13 appearances over the past month. At this stage, it doesn't appear as though he will play any sort of meaningful role during the playoffs.

Risacher won't start Saturday's Game 1 against the Knicks, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
Risacher got the starting nod in Atlanta's regular-season finale but will slide to the second unit for the start of the playoffs. The second-year forward averaged 7.9 points and 4.1 rebounds across 18.3 minutes per game in 21 regular-season appearances off the bench.

The Hawks successfully avoided the Play-In Tournament and will rest all of their starters during the regular-season finale, allowing Risacher to make his first start since Feb. 26. As a starter this season (45 games), Risacher has averaged 10.3 points, 3.6 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 0.9 steals in 24.3 minutes per game.
