Hawks' Trae Young: Dealing with Achilles tendinitis
Young has been ruled out for Tuesday's game in Boston due to right Achilles tendinitis, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
This is a new injury for Young, and any time an Achilles is involved it's cause for concern. The point guard posted a season-high 16 assists during Saturday's loss to Chicago, marking his third straight double-double and ninth this season. In Young's absence, Garrison Mathews, Keaton Wallace and David Roddy are all candidates for increased roles versus Boston. Young's next chance to suit up will come Friday versus Washington, and for now, it appears Atlanta is treating him as day-to-day.

Hawks' Trae Young: Season-best mark in assists in loss
Young chipped in 14 points (6-16 FG, 2-6 3Pt), three rebounds and 16 assists over 38 minutes during Saturday's 125-113 loss to the Bulls.
Young recorded his ninth double-double across 11 appearances this season, and he established a new season-high mark in the assists category with his 16 dimes. This was just the second time in which he finished with more assists than points. Young has been spectacular this season and should be a must-start across all formats -- as long as he stays healthy -- due to his impressive ability to deliver above-average numbers in two separate categories.

Hawks' Trae Young: Valiant effort in loss
Young racked up 35 points (11-25 FG, 6-12 3Pt, 7-8 FT), two rebounds, 13 assists and two steals in 41 minutes during Friday's 122-121 loss to Detroit.
Young put together a huge night, marking his second double-double in as many games. The 26-year-old point guard has now reached the 30-point threshold four times in 10 appearances, and he's also averaging 11.1 assists and 1.4 steals to begin the year.

Hawks' Trae Young: Another double-double
Young closed with 23 points (7-21 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 6-8 FT), six rebounds, 10 assists and two steals across 35 minutes during Wednesday's 121-116 win over New York.
Young ended up playing Wednesday's contest despite exiting Monday's tilt early with a rib injury, and the star floor general didn't show any effects from the previous problem. He notched his seventh double-double of the season and is forming an excellent pairing with Jalen Johnson. Young is doing more than just distributing the rock, however, and he's also scored at least 20 points in all but one of his seven double-doubles. Through nine appearances, he is putting up 23.8 points, 10.9 assists, 4.6 rebounds and 1.3 steals per contest.

Young (ribs) has been cleared for Wednesday's game versus the Knicks.
Young has yet to miss a game this season, although he was limited to 23 minutes of action Monday versus Boston after spraining his ribs. Young, Dyson Daniels and Garrison Mathews represent the only healthy members of Atlanta's backcourt with double-digit games of NBA experience.

Jalen Johnson led the Hawks in scoring with his 29-point effort, but the impact Young is having on the team offensively can't be overlooked. He's scored at least 23 points in all but one of his outings, and he's also dished out 10 or more assists in six of his seven appearances. Even though it's early in the season, it would be shocking if he doesn't average a double-double for the third consecutive campaign. Through the first two weeks of the 2024-25 regular season, Young is averaging a robust 27.0 points and 11.7 assists per tilt.

Young accumulated 25 points (8-21 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 6-7 FT), five rebounds and 12 assists across 42 minutes during Friday's 123-115 loss to the Kings.
Young has been one of the best playmakers in the early stages of the NBA season, and the star floor general has recorded 10 or more assists in all but one of his six outings. Young has been doing more than dish out assists, though, and he's also reached the 25-point mark four times in that stretch. This translates to Young being one of the best fantasy point guards in 2024-25, thanks to averages of 27.7 points and 11.7 dimes per game in six outings.

Hawks' Trae Young: Game-high 35 points Wednesday
Young finished Wednesday's 133-120 loss to the Wizards with 35 points (12-28 FG, 4-13 3Pt, 7-7 FT), 15 assists, four rebounds and two steals over 40 minutes.
It was a nice bounce-back effort from Young on Wednesday after shooting just 2-for-15 from the field during Monday's loss to Washington. He logged his fourth double-double of the 2024-25 regular season and led both teams in both scoring and assists. He's shooting just 30 percent from three-point range, but he's made up for it at the free-throw line, where he is shooting at a 90.6 percent clip. Young and the Hawks will travel back to Atlanta to host the Kings on Friday.

Young closed with 14 points (2-15 FG, 2-10 3Pt, 8-9 FT), eight rebounds, 13 assists, one block and one steal in 36 minutes during Monday's 121-119 loss to the Wizards.
On the surface, the stat line looks good since Young handed out double-digit assists for the third time in four contests while ending just two rebounds shy of a triple-double. However, the shooting woes can't be overlooked, and the star floor general would've had an even worse scoring effort hadn't it been for his nine trips to the charity stripe. Young opened the season with back-to-back games reaching the 30-point mark, but he's been trending in the wrong direction over the last two contests.

The fact that this 24-point, eight-assist performance was Young's worst outing of the season shows how hot he's been to start the campaign. The star floor general has back-to-back favorable matchups upcoming against the Wizards on Monday and Wednesday. He could be in line to extend his excellent start to the season, both in real life but also in fantasy, where he was one of the best guards over the first days of action.

Young closed with 38 points (11-24 FG, 5-14 3Pt, 11-13 FT), eight rebounds, 10 assists and four steals over 41 minutes during Friday's 125-120 win over the Hornets.
Young stuffed the stat sheet Friday, posting game highs in points, assists and steals. However, he did turn the ball over seven times. The 26-year-old is off to a fantastic start to the 2024-25 campaign, averaging 34 points, 11 assists and 6.5 rebounds across the first two games. Though it's unclear if he'll retain this pace, Young looks to be making a push for his first All-NBA berth since 2021-22.

Young totaled 30 points (7-16 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 14-16 FT), five rebounds, 12 assists, one block and one steal across 37 minutes during Wednesday's 120-116 win over the Nets.
Young delivered what could be his first of many double-doubles, helping the Hawks to a narrow victory. After starting the game slowly, Young got going in the second quarter, ending with a team-high 30 points. With Dejounte Murray (hand) now residing in New Orleans, Young is likely to have his hands on the ball a ton. His efficiency is likely to fluctuate, but as someone who could lead the league in assists while scoring close to 30 points per night, he should make for an elite fantasy producer once again.
