  • Wizards' Trae Young: Efficient shooting numbers

Young finished Thursday's 136-131 overtime loss to the Magic with 15 points (5-7 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 3-3 FT), three rebounds and six assists in 21 minutes. Young has played just three games with the Wizards this season, and while his numbers remain subpar for his standards, at least he was efficient in this OT loss. Perhaps the most encouraging tidbit out of this game is the fact that he played more than 20 minutes for the first time since joining Washington. However, he'll likely remain limited down the stretch, with the Wizards having nothing to play for except lottery odds.

  • Wizards' Trae Young: Good to go Thursday

Young (knee) is good to go for Thursday's game against the Magic. After getting a maintenance day Tuesday against the Heat, Young will be back in action Thursday. He's averaging just 18.5 minutes across two appearances for the Wizards thus far, so his upside is limited.

  • Wizards' Trae Young: Sitting out Tuesday

Young (knee) won't play Tuesday against the Heat. After playing an average of 18.5 minutes over his first two appearances for Washington, Young will get a maintenance day related to his right knee. Presumably, he'll be back in action Thursday against Orlando. Bub Carrington and Tre Johnson will likely take on more responsibility out of the backcourt with Young sitting out Tuesday.

  • Wizards' Trae Young: Limited impact in Wizards debut

Young posted 12 points (4-9 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 3-6 FT), two rebounds, six assists and two steals across 19 minutes during Thursday's 122-112 loss to Utah. Young played with the Wizards for the first time in his career, and while his stat line could've been better had he played more, he was limited to a mere 19 minutes. Young struggled with his shot from three-point range, but some rust was expected given this was his first game since Dec. 27 and only his 11th game in the current campaign. Young is expected to remain in the starting lineup for upcoming games, though he's likely to continue playing under a minutes restriction.

  • Wizards' Trae Young: Removed from injury report

Young (knee/quadriceps) is off the injury report for Thursday's game against the Jazz. The stage is officially set for the star guard to make his much-awaited Wizards debut Thursday. Young has been out since Dec. 27 with a right knee MCL sprain and a right quadriceps contusion, and he's slated for a restriction of 17-to-20 minutes, per Josh Robbins of The Athletic. Young's return is likely to lead to Bub Carrington heading to the bench Thursday.

  • Wizards' Trae Young: Set to make team debut Thursday

Young (knee/quadriceps) will make his Wizards debut in Thursday's game against the Jazz, Shams Charania of ESPN reports. Though Young will remain out for Monday's tilt against the Rockets and Tuesday's matchup against the Magic, he's on track to make his highly-anticipated team debut later this week. Prior to being traded to the Wizards, Young made his final appearance with the Hawks on Dec. 27 before being shut down due to a right knee MCL sprain and a right quadriceps contusion. Because Young has been out for a lengthy period of time, head coach Brian Keefe confirmed that the 27-year-old would have a restriction of between 17-to-20 minutes in his Wizards debut, per Josh Robbins of The Athletic. Young's return will likely result in Bub Carrington moving to the bench Thursday.

  • Wizards' Trae Young: Remains out for Monday

Young (knee/quadriceps) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Rockets. Young continues to rehab from right knee and quadriceps injuries and is expected to be re-evaluated in the near future. The star point guard can be considered doubtful for future contests until Washington offers an update on his progress. His next opportunity to suit up will come Tuesday versus Orlando.

  • Wizards' Trae Young: Ruled out for Saturday

Young (knee/quadriceps) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against Toronto. Young is still recovering from right knee and quadriceps injuries, and his next opportunity to suit up will come Monday against the Rockets. The star point guard is set to be re-evaluated soon, though he can be considered doubtful for future contests until Washington offers an update on his progress.

  • Wizards' Trae Young: To miss at least one more week

Young (knee/quadriceps) will be re-evaluated in one week, per NBA reporter Marc Stein. The star guard is ramping up his on-court activities during his recovery from a right knee MCL sprain and right quadriceps contusion, but his Wizards debut isn't imminent. Until Young is finally ready to suit up again, Bub Carrington and Tre Johnson should continue to see a boost in ball-handling responsibilities on the other side of the All-Star break.

  • Wizards' Trae Young: Not close to returning

Young (knee, quadriceps) still hasn't been cleared for contact, Josh Robbins of The Athletic reports Wednesday. It doesn't sound like Young's Wizards debut is imminent. Until the star guard makes more progress in his recovery from a right knee MCL sprain and a right quadriceps contusion, he can be considered week-to-week. Bub Carrington and Tre Johnson should remain worthwhile streaming candidates in most fantasy leagues out of the All-Star break.

  • Wizards' Trae Young: Set to miss at least one month

Young (knee, quadriceps) will be re-evaluated following the mid-February All-Star break, Shams Charania of ESPN reports Wednesday. The Wizards are erring on the side of caution with their new acquisition as he deals with MCL and quadriceps injuries in his right knee. The timeline for a return likely means Young won't make his team debut for at least another month. With Young sidelined, Tre Johnson and Bub Carrington should continue to push for minutes near the 30s.

  • Wizards' Trae Young: Won't play Wednesday

Young (quad) is out for Wednesday's game against the Clippers. If the Wizards' pick falls outside the top eight in 2026 NBA Draft, they will concede that selection to the Knicks, so they may be incentivizing losing as many games as possible this season. This will likely translate to lots of time on the sidelines for Young, and the Wizards have already acknowledged they're in no rush to bring him back from the quad injury. With Washington's next two games coming as a Friday-Saturday, back-to-back set, it's unlikely Young will be cleared by Friday.

  • Wizards' Trae Young: Won't suit up Sunday

Young (quadriceps/knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Suns. Young is continuing to nurse a right quadriceps contusion and a right knee MCL sprain, with the pair of injuries making it uncertain when he might be ready to make his Wizards debut. Unless he's able to resume some on-court work Monday or Tuesday, Young should be viewed as doubtful to play Wednesday against the Clippers. In Young's absence Sunday, Bub Carrington and Tre Johnson should continue to handle most of the minutes at point guard.

  • Wizards' Trae Young: Listed out for Friday

Young (quadriceps) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Wizards. Though Washington's acquisition of Young became official earlier Friday, the star point guard won't be ready to make his Wizards debut while he continues to recover from a right quad bruise, which kept him sidelined for the Hawks' last seven games before he was traded. According to Michael Scotto of USA Today, the Wizards intend to take a cautious approach with Young as he recovers from the quad issue as well as a prior MCL sprain, so the 27-year-old could be at risk of missing additional time beyond Friday before he returns to the court.

  • Wizards' Trae Young: Dealt to Washington

Atlanta traded Young (quadriceps) to Washington on Wednesday for CJ McCollum and Corey Kispert, Shams Charania of ESPN reports. Over the last few days, Atlanta has been looking to move on from Young, and he'll be shipped off to Washington. The 27-year-old point guard will immediately become the top option on a young Wizards team, meaning shots won't be hard to come by. Add in an adequate lob threat in Alex Sarr, and the move to Washington could bolster Young's already great fantasy profile. Young is averaging 19.3 points, 8.9 assists and 1.0 steals across his 10 appearances this season. He has missed six consecutive games with a bruised right quad injury and, according to Michael Scotto of USA Today, the Wizards are going to take a cautious approach with Young's health.

  • Hawks' Trae Young: Won't play Wednesday

Young (quadriceps) will not play Wednesday against the Pelicans. Young was unable to shake his questionable tag for this contest and will sit out for a sixth straight game. The guard is presumably day-to-day with a chance to return Friday against Denver. In the meantime, Nickeil Alexander-Walker and Vit Krejci will likely continue to see an uptick in touches.

  • Hawks' Trae Young: Questionable for Wednesday

Young is questionable for Wednesday's game against the Pelicans due to a right quadriceps contusion. Young is looking to end a five-game absence with the injury. If the star guard ends up missing another contest, Nickeil Alexander-Walker should continue to stick with the starting lineup. More playing time would also be open to Vit Krejci off the bench.

  • Hawks' Trae Young: Unavailable Saturday

Young (quadriceps) is listed as out for Saturday's game against Toronto, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports. Young will be sidelined for a fourth straight game due to a bruised right quad. His absence will likely allow for Nickeil Alexander-Walker to draw another start, while Keaton Wallace and Vit Krejci could see an uptick in playing time off the bench. Young's next chance to play will come Monday in a rematch with the Raptors.

  • Hawks' Trae Young: Won't play Friday

Young (quadriceps) won't play Friday against the Knicks. Young, who was previously listed as questionable, isn't quite ready to return. With Young missing his third game in a row, the Hawks could lean more on Vit Krejci and Nickeil Alexander-Walker.

  • Hawks' Trae Young: Could return Friday

Young (quadriceps) is listed as questionable for Friday's game against the Knicks. Young has missed the Hawks' last two games due to a right quad contusion, but if the All-Star point guard is able to return Friday, then Nickeil Alexander-Walker would likely revert to a bench role against New York. Young has played just 10 regular-season games due to injury and is averaging 19.3 points, 9.0 assists, 1.6 rebounds, 1.8 threes and 1.0 steals over 28.0 minutes per game.
