Raptors' Bruce Brown: Remains out indefinitely
Rotowire
Brown (knee) didn't practice Tuesday and remains out indefinitely, Michael Grange of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Brown is recovering from an arthroscopic right knee surgery he underwent at the end of September. He's due for a re-evaluation soon, but it sounds like he'll miss at least the first week of the regular season. With RJ Barrett (shoulder) and Kelly Olynyk (back) also nursing injuries, there'll be plenty of minutes available for Gradey Dick and Ochai Agbaji.

Raptors' Bruce Brown: Undergoes arthroscopic surgery
Rotowire
The Raptors announced Brown underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee Thursday, and he will be re-evaluated in three weeks, Ryan Wolstat of the Toronto Sun reports.
Brown will be re-evaluated in three weeks, meaning he is more than likely to be held out of the team's preseason opener against the Wizards on Oct. 6, and possibly beyond. The 28-year-old said that the lingering knee issue affected his play starting in December of the 2023-24 season, during which he averaged 10.8 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.9 assists across 27.9 minutes in 67 appearances (44 starts). If Brown misses additional time, Gradey Dick (ankle) will likely pick up extra minutes and could secure the starting job.

Raptors' Bruce Brown: Team option picked up
Rotowire
The Raptors exercised Brown's $23 million player option for the 2024-25 season Friday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
A key piece in the Nuggets' run to the NBA title in 2022-23, Brown struggled to take hold of a larger role in Indiana to begin the season and then with the Raptors, who acquired him from the Pacers in January. Following the trade to Toronto, Brown appeared in 34 games and averaged 9.6 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 0.7 steals and 0.6 three-pointers in 26.1 minutes per contest. Despite his underwhelming production in Toronto, the Raptors still saw enough value in Brown's defensive versatility to retain him at a $23 million salary. If nothing else, the sizable expiring contract will make Brown a valuable trade piece in helping Toronto facilitate a potential deal during the upcoming season.

Raptors' Bruce Brown: Questionable against Brooklyn
Rotowire
Brown (knee) is questionable for Wednesday's game against the Nets, Aaron Rose of SI.com reports.
Wednesday's game is the second leg of a back-to-back set, so the Raptors could exercise caution with Brown's knee. The Raptors are expected to be very shorthanded, so if Brown does get the green light, he could see a bump in usage.

Raptors' Bruce Brown: Out for remainder of game
Rotowire
Brown won't return to Tuesday's game versus the Lakers due to right knee soreness. He will end the contest with five points (2-6 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 1-1 FT), six rebounds, two steals and one assist in 28 minutes.
Tuesday marks the front end of a back-to-back set, so even if Brown's knee injury doesn't prove to be too serious, he could struggle to gain clearance for Wednesday's contest in Minnesota. Brown is averaging 28.5 minutes per game over his last 11 outings with Toronto, but with both RJ Barrett (personal) and Immanuel Quickley (personal) making their respective returns from multi-game absences, Brown's playing time could take a hit moving forward once he's healthy.

Raptors' Bruce Brown: Nears 20 points in starting lineup
Rotowire
Brown posted 18 points (7-9 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 1-2 FT), six assists, four rebounds and two steals over 34 minutes in Sunday's 135-120 loss to Philadelphia.
Brown got the starting nod Sunday with Ochai Agbaji (hip) inactive, connecting on a team-high-tying mark from three to go along with a half-dozen assist and coming up two points shy of the 20-point mark to boost Toronto offensively. Brown has posted 18 or more points in six games this season, adding six or more assists in two of those contests. If RJ Barrett (conditioning) and/or Immanuel Quickley (conditioning) return Tuesday against the Lakers, Brown would likely take on a reduced role.

Raptors' Bruce Brown: Logs double-double in return
Rotowire
Brown (knee) provided 13 points (5-13 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 10 rebounds and three assists across 38 minutes during Monday's 125-119 loss to the Nuggets.
Making his return from a four-game absence due to a knee injury, Brown slotted into the starting lineup for the depleted Raptors and delivered his first double-double of the season. With Scottie Barnes (hand) perhaps out for the season and with Gary Trent (groin) and Immanuel Quickley (hip) also currently dealing with issues, there could be plenty of minutes available for Brown over the next couple weeks, provided he's able to stay on the court.
