  • 76ers' Labaron Philon: Out of rotation

Philon (coach's decision) didn't play during Tuesday's 106-100 victory over the Knicks. There was some hope the rookie first-rounder would open the season as Tyrese Maxey's backup at point guard, but Anfernee Simons took on that role in the opener. Philon's fantasy value appears to be more pronounced in dynasty leagues.

  • 76ers' Labaron Philon: Team-high seven assists Saturday

Philon logged 14 points (5-13 FG, 4-8 3Pt), seven assists, two rebounds and one steal over 25 minutes during Saturday's 144-106 preseason loss to Boston. Philon led the 76ers in both assists and three-pointers in Saturday's loss, and he finished tied with Jabari Walker as the team's second-leading scorer behind VJ Edgecombe (19 points). Philon was the 22nd overall pick of the 2026 NBA Draft, but the rookie's role this season is a bit muddied given the strength of Philadelphia's starting lineup and veteran role players like Anfernee Simons (undisclosed) and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (rest).

  • 76ers' Labaron Philon: Hands out four dimes

Philon finished with six points (2-9 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four assists and two rebounds in 25 minutes during Monday's 120-97 preseason win over the Knicks. Philon struggled with his shot but didn't commit a turnover while receiving an extended look in Philadelphia's preseason opener. The rookie should continue to see opportunities during the preseason as the 76ers evaluate their backcourt depth.

  • 76ers' Labaron Philon: Role uncertain for 2026-27

Philon faces plenty of competition for minutes and an uncertain role heading into his rookie campaign, per Adam Aaronson of PhillyVoice.com. Selected with the No. 22 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, Philon will likely have to impress to take on a steady role after the 76ers added Jaylen Brown, LeBron James, Anfernee Simons, Dean Wade and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (finger) this offseason. Philon will need to prove he can be effective off the ball to see meaningful burn on a nightly basis during his rookie season, as the 76ers have plenty of ball-handlers ahead of him. The 20-year-old's off-ball movement and ability to hit catch-and-shoot threes could play a large part in his playing time, considering the Sixers also have Simons to handle the rock off the bench. Philon will also have to hold his own defensively to stay on the court. He earned All-SEC First Team honors with Alabama in 2025-26, averaging 22.0 points, 5.0 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 1.2 steals while shooting 50.1 percent from the field and 39.9 percent from beyond the arc in 30.9 minutes per game.

  • 76ers' Labaron Philon: Won't play in Summer League finale

Philon (rest) won't play in Saturday's Summer League game against the Bucks, Adam Aaronson of PhillyVoice.com reports. Philon will take a seat for the 76ers' Summer League finale. The rookie first-rounder scored at least 15 points in all four of his Las Vegas Summer League appearances, during which he averaged 18.5 points, 5.8 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals in 32.0 minutes per contest.

  • 76ers' Labaron Philon: Paces Philadelphia in SL win

Philon totaled 24 points (9-22 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 2-4 FT), six assists, three rebounds and one steal across 34 minutes in Saturday's 100-93 Summer League win over the Pacers in overtime. Philon saw heavy usage and delivered with a team-high 24 points in the victory. He also led all players with six assists. Tyrese Maxey is entrenched as the 76ers' starting point guard, but Philon, the No. 22 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, figures to compete with Anfernee Simons for minutes off the bench in the backcourt.

  • 76ers' Labaron Philon: Scores 18 points in SL win

Philon finished with 18 points (6-19 FG, 4-10 3Pt, 1-2 FT), seven assists, three rebounds and one steal across 29 minutes in Thursday's 101-93 Summer League win over the Pistons. Philon struggled from inside the arc but knocked down a game-high-tying four triples while finishing as one of four Philadelphia players to score at least 18 points. The 22nd overall pick in this year's draft also dished out a game-high seven assists in his Summer League debut. The 20-year-old guard will likely have an opportunity to carve out a role off the 76ers' bench in 2026-27, though he'll have to compete for playing time with guys like Anfernee Simons and Dalen Terry behind a loaded starting backcourt.
