  • Pistons' Cole Swider: Strikes two-way deal with Pistons

Swider agreed to a two-way contract with the Pistons on Saturday, Michael Scotto of USA Today reports. After the Pacers waived him from his Exhibit 10 deal Friday, Swider quickly caught on with Detroit and will fill one of the team's three two-way slots heading into the regular season. He spent the 2023-24 season as a two-way player for the Heat and appeared in just 18 games at the NBA level, but he was a standout performer in the G League. Over his 21 appearances with the Sioux Falls Skyforce, the big man averaged 24.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.7 three-pointers, 2.9 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.4 blocks in 38.3 minutes.

  • Cole Swider: Cut loose by Indiana

The Pacers waived Swider on Friday, Tony East of SI.com reports. Swider spent training camp and the preseason with Indiana on an Exhibit 9 contract but was unable to secure a roster spot. He'll have the opportunity to pursue work elsewhere, but the Pacers will retain his G League rights.

  • Pacers' Cole Swider: Inks deal with Indy

The Pacers signed Swider to a one-year, non-guaranteed deal Saturday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports. Swider was impressive with the Heat's Summer League team this offseason, during which he averaged 13.5 points while shooting 49.1 percent from beyond the arc. The 25-year-old will now have the opportunity to compete for a roster spot in training camp with the Pacers after he averaged 2.3 points across 4.8 minutes in 18 regular-season games with the Heat last season.

  • Heat's Cole Swider: Inactive Sunday

Swider (not injury related) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Pacers, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports. Swider is with the NBA club but won't suit up Sunday because the team already has 15 players available. With the G League season over for the Heat's affiliate -- the Sioux Falls Skyforce -- Swider should remain with Miami moving forward, but he's unlikely to see consistent playing time.

  • Heat's Cole Swider: Gets garbage-time run

Swider recorded zero points (0-1 FG, 0-1 3Pt) in two minutes during Tuesday's 113-92 loss to Golden State. Swider appeared in a third straight game for Miami, albeit for just two minutes at the tail end of a blowout loss. Though the two-way player has posted excellent numbers in the G League this season, Swider doesn't look as though he'll get an extended look in Miami's rotation anytime soon.

  • Heat's Cole Swider: Rejoins Miami, available Wednesday

Swider has rejoined the Heat on their road trip and will be available for Wednesday's game in Cleveland, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports. With Duncan Robinson (back) joining Tyler Herro (foot), Josh Richardson (shoulder) and Kevin Love (heel) on the sidelines, Swider will serve as emergency depth after joining the Heat for their final matchup of a four-game road trip. The two-way player hasn't appeared in an NBA game since Feb. 26.

  • Heat's Cole Swider: Returns from G League

The Heat recalled Swider from the G League's Sioux Falls Skyforce prior to Tuesday's game against Milwaukee, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports. The two-way player will provide additional depth for the parent club for its final two games before the All-Star break. Even while the Heat are expected to be without multiple key players Tuesday, Swider may not be a part of head coach Erik Spoelstra's rotation. He's averaging 2.6 points in 4.9 minutes per game over nine NBA appearances this season.

  • Heat's Cole Swider: Will be available Monday

Swider is available for Monday's game against the Clippers after being elevated from the G League's Sioux Falls Skyforce. The Heat have already ruled Jimmy Butler (foot) and Haywood Highsmith (concussion) out, while Kyle Lowry (head), Josh Richardson (back) and Caleb Martin (ankle) all have injury designations, so Swider and Orlando Robinson have been elevated for the New Year's Day matchup. Swider has made four NBA appearances this season, averaging 4.5 points in 7.5 minutes per game.

  • Heat's Cole Swider: Recalled to NBA

Swider was recalled from the G League to the NBA on Thursday, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports. Swider has played only two minutes with the Heat this season. However, the Heat may want him available Friday, as Duncan Robinson (thumb) is questionable.

  • Heat's Cole Swider: Returns to NBA

The Heat recalled Swider from the G League's Sioux Falls Skyforce on Friday, Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald reports. • Heat's Cole Swider: Joins Miami on Exhibit 10 deal

Swider agreed to an Exhibit 10 deal with the Heat on Sunday, Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald reports. A 6-foot-9 forward, Swider played collegiately at Villanova and Syracuse before joining the Lakers on a two-way deal last summer. He made only seven NBA appearances as a rookie but shot 43.6 percent from deep in the G League. If he falls short in his bid to make Miami's opening night roster, the Heat will have the option of keeping him in the organization with their G League affiliate, the Sioux Falls Skyforce.

  • Heat's Cole Swider: Slated to sign with Miami

Swider agreed to a deal with the Heat on Sunday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports. The terms of the deal are not yet known. A 6-foot-9 forward, Swider played college ball at Villanova and Syracuse before signing a two-way deal with the Lakers last summer. He appeared in seven NBA contests during his rookie campaign, averaging 1.3 points and 1.0 rebounds in 5.9 minutes per game.

  • Cole Swider: Let go by Lakers

The Lakers waived Swider on Wednesday, Michael Scotto of USA Today reports. As an undrafted rookie out of Syracuse a season ago, Swider split time between the NBA and G League while serving as a two-way player for the Lakers. Only seven of his appearances came at the NBA level, with Swider averaging 1.3 points and 1.0 rebounds in 5.9 minutes per contest. In letting go of Swider, the Lakers are expected to sign undrafted rookie Alex Fudge to fill their third and final two-way spot.

  • Lakers' Cole Swider: Silent Sunday

Swider tallied eight points (3-7 FG, 1-5 3PT, 1-2 FT), three assists and one rebound over 27 minutes of Sunday's 121-114 loss to Salt Lake City. Swider struggled to find his typical impact Sunday, scoring in single digits for the fifth time in 25 regular-season appearances. He also buried just one of his five three-point attempts, which was uncharacteristic for the 43.5 percent three-point shooter.

  • Lakers' Cole Swider: Posts 31 points on 21 shots

Swider logged 31 points (13-21 FG, 4-9 3PT, 1-1 FT), five rebounds, three steals and an assist over 36 minutes of Wednesday's 127-125 win over Sioux Falls. Swider paced South Bay in the scoring column, marking his second 30-point outburst in his last five appearances. In 21 regular season games, Swider has averaged 16.9 points, 4.6 rebounds and 0.9 steals across 28.4 minutes.

  • Lakers' Cole Swider: Assigned to G League

The Lakers assigned Swider to the South Bay Lakers of the G League on Friday, Ryan Ward of LakersNation.com reports. Swider won't be available for Saturday's matchup with the Warriors. However, he hasn't played double-digit minutes since Jan. 9, so his G League stint shouldn't affect Los Angeles' rotation.

  • Lakers' Cole Swider: Erupts for 25 points

Swider logged 25 points (6-15 FG, 5-10 3PT, 3-3 FT), four rebounds, a steal and a block over 32 minutes of Saturday's 119-107 win over the Ignite. Swider's 25 points notched a new season-high, as the 23-year-old saw an expanded workload with Scotty Pippen (concussion) and L.J. Figueroa (knee) sidelined. Although Swider has had a relatively quiet regular season, he should have ample time to get his footing with the pair of guards sidelined.

  • Lakers' Cole Swider: Posts 16 points off bench

Swider managed 16 points (6-12 FG, 3-8 3PT, 1-1 FT), five rebounds and one assist over 27 minutes of Friday's game against the G League Warriors. Swider set new regular-season highs in minutes and rebounds while matching his previous best of 16 points. In six appearances, Swider has averaged 13.2 points and 3.7 rebounds across 23.6 minutes.

  • Lakers' Cole Swider: Won't play Thursday

Swider will miss Thursday's game against the Clippers due to right foot soreness, Mike Trudell of the Lakers' official site reports. Swider logged just a pair of minutes in the opener and doesn't factor in much from a fantasy perspective, so his absence shouldn't cause waves on that front. His next chance to suit up surfaces Sunday against the Trail Blazers.

  • Lakers' Cole Swider: Efficient outside shooting

Swider averaged 15.4 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.0 assists in five Summer League games. Swider shot the ball extremely well from the three-point line, eclipsing 50 percent on 7.6 attempts per game. Although it will be difficult for him to crack a veteran-heavy rotation as an undrafted rookie, his shooting prowess could be enough to earn minutes at some point this season. The Lakers will likely want to surround LeBron James and Anthony Davis with more shooters than last season, when they finished 22nd in three-point percentage and 18th in three-point makes. Austin Reaves received meaningful minutes last season as an undrafted rookie and Alex Caruso flourished as well a few seasons prior, so it is far from impossible.
