Clippers' Darius Garland: Reaches 20-point mark once again
Garland amassed 21 points (8-13 FG, 5-9 3Pt), one rebound, six assists and two steals in 23 minutes during Wednesday's 153-128 victory over the Timberwolves.
Garland didn't make his Clippers debut until March 2 and made his first start Saturday, March 7, in a win over the Grizzlies. The Clippers have gone 3-0 with Garland as a starter, and the former Cavaliers floor general has posted excellent numbers so far with averages of 21.7 points, 6.3 assists, 2.0 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game. Garland has scored at least 21 points in his three starts while shooting 46.9 percent from the floor and 50 percent from three, so the arrow is definitely pointing up for him.

Clippers' Darius Garland: Solid totals in win
Garland closed with 23 points (7-16 FG, 5-9 3Pt, 4-6 FT), one rebound, seven assists and two steals over 30 minutes during Monday's 126-118 win over New York.
Garland is still sitting out at least one game during back-to-back sets, but his production is starting to find signs of life. He followed up a 21-point performance against the Grizzlies with another total over 20 points, drilling five three-pointers in the process. His perimeter game and assist production are his strongest suits, and Monday's line is reminiscent of the totals he compiled with the Cavaliers earlier in the season.

Clippers' Darius Garland: Tallies 21 points vs. Memphis
Garland logged 21 points (8-20 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 2-3 FT), six assists and four rebounds over 26 minutes during the Clippers' 123-120 win over the Grizzlies on Saturday.
Garland made his first start as a member of the Clippers on Saturday after coming off the bench in each of his first two outings with his new team. He helped the Clippers close things out with 11 points in the fourth quarter and finished tied with Bennedict Mathurin as the team's second-leading scorer behind Kawhi Leonard (28 points). Garland has yet to crack 30 minutes since joining the Clippers and will likely have his playing time monitored as he continues to manage a left toe injury.

Garland is likely to move into a starting role with the Clippers over time, but head coach Tyronn Lue elected to bring the point guard off the bench in his debut in an attempt to manage his minutes. Garland's addition will be key down the stretch for the Clippers, who appear to be assured a spot in the Play-In Tournament. Garland could be in line for an absence soon with a back-to-back set on tap this weekend, but he should be able to play and could see a slight rise in minutes in the Clippers' next game Wednesday against the Pacers.

The Clippers will be monitoring Garland's minutes closely in his first game action since Jan. 14, and the fact that he's being utilized off the bench will make it a bit easier for the team to manage his workload. In what will be his Clippers debut, Garland is slated to make his first appearance since Jan. 14 following a lengthy absence due to a right great toe sprain and left big toe injury management. Prior to being traded to the Clippers on Feb. 4, Garland had averaged 18.0 points, 6.9 assists, 2.4 rebounds, 2.3 three-pointers and 0.8 steals in 30.5 minutes per contest over 26 appearances with Cleveland. Given the amount of time that he missed, Garland is likely to be operating with a minutes restriction Monday, but the Clippers could feel comfortable deploying him in the starting five right off the bat.

Murray adds that Garland likely won't see the floor until March at the earliest. It's clear that the Clippers are going to be cautious with their new point guard, but Murray said the team definitely expects him to return this season.
