Top Precious Achiuwa News

  • Kings' Precious Achiuwa: Big double-double in loss

Achiuwa chipped in 29 points (12-16 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 4-6 FT), 12 rebounds, five assists, two blocks and one steal across 41 minutes during Thursday's 133-123 loss to the Pelicans.

The 29 points led all scorers on the night, while the 12 boards led all rebounders. Achiuwa has seven double-doubles on the season, with four of them coming in the last eight games. During that stretch, he's averaging 17.5 points, 9.6 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.1 blocks in 32.3 minutes while shooting 59.4 percent from the floor.

  • Kings' Precious Achiuwa: Continues strong play as fill-in

Achiuwa recorded 18 points (8-14 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), nine rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal in 39 minutes during Tuesday's 114-103 loss to Phoenix.

Achiuwa has settled into a consistent role during Keegan Murray's (ankle) injury. Murray will be out for at least another week, making the sixth-year pro a popular fantasy add off the waiver wire. Although Achiuwa will be free to shop himself around in the offseason, it may be hard to find the kind of playing time he could receive with the rebuilding Kings. Over nine starting appearances, Achiuwa has averaged 13.9 points, 8.1 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.7 steals.

  • Kings' Precious Achiuwa: Pours in career-high 29 points

Achiuwa chipped in 29 points (13-19 FG, 3-3 3Pt), 12 rebounds, four assists, one block and three steals over 33 minutes during Thursday's 130-121 victory over Dallas.

Achiuwa led the Kings in scoring and rebounding, and he contributed on the defensive end after failing to record either a block or a steal in his last showing Wednesday against Houston. The Memphis product has made seven straight starts for Sacramento and is averaging 14.1 points, 7.9 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.9 steals in 26.7 minutes per game during this stretch.

  • Kings' Precious Achiuwa: Stays hot in victory

Achiuwa provided 22 points (10-15 FG, 2-3 FT), 12 rebounds, one block and one steal in 33 minutes during Monday's 123-114 win over the Grizzlies.

Achiuwa scored with efficiency during Monday's matchup, and he's now put up 14 or more points in three consecutive games. He's also been a force on the boards lately by collecting two double-doubles in his previous three showings. Achiuwa is averaging 12.8 points, 6.6 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.0 blocks over his last five outings.

  • Kings' Precious Achiuwa: Strong showing in loss

Achiuwa finished with 14 points (7-12 FG, 0-1 3Pt), 10 rebounds, one assist, two blocks and four steals in 34 minutes during Thursday's 131-94 loss to the Magic.

Making his third straight start, Achiuwa recorded his fourth double-double of the season while setting a new season high in steals. The 26-year-old forward kept his spot in the starting five even with Keegan Murray making his return from an ankle injury. Achiuwa figures to see an elevated role in the frontcourt the remainder of the campaign with Domantas Sabonis having undergone season-ending knee surgery Wednesday.

  • Kings' Precious Achiuwa: Back in mix

Achiuwa is starting Monday's game against the Pelicans, James Ham of ESPN 1320 Sacramento reports.

Achiuwa has fallen out of the rotation over Sacramento's last three games or so, but it appears he's earned himself an opportunity to prove he belongs Monday night. Daeqwon Plowden will move to the bench with Achiuwa sliding into the starting five.

  • Kings' Precious Achiuwa: Moves outside rotation

Achiuwa (coach's decision) went unused off the bench Wednesday in the Kings' 129-125 loss to the Grizzlies.

Achiuwa had started each of the Kings' previous 13 games, but after playing less than 15 minutes in both of the past two contests, head coach Doug Christie opted to move him to the bench against Memphis. With De'Andre Hunter making his team debut Wednesday and fortifying the Kings' depth at forward, Achiuwa was dropped from the rotation entirely as Christie instead added guard Devin Carter (24 minutes) to the second unit to compensate for the losses of two backcourt players in Dennis Schroder and Keon Ellis, who were traded to Cleveland in the Hunter deal. Unless Sacramento is without one of its key frontcourt options in a given game moving forward, Achiuwa could find himself out of the rotation for the foreseeable future.

  • Kings' Precious Achiuwa: Not starting Wednesday

Achiuwa isn't part of the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the Grizzlies, Frankie Cartoscelli of KHTK Sactown Sports 1140 reports.

Achiuwa will come off the bench for just the second time in 26 games, as the Kings will roll out a lineup of Russell Westbrook, Zach LaVine, De'Andre Hunter, DeMar DeRozan and Domantas Sabonis. Achiuwa had played just 22 total minutes in his last two appearances, but he should be one of the first bigs off the bench Wednesday.

  • Kings' Precious Achiuwa: Pulls down 13 rebounds in loss

Achiuwa ended Thursday's 113-111 loss to the 76ers with eight points (4-7 FG, 0-2 3Pt), 13 rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal across 34 minutes.

Achiuwa's 13 boards were a game high, and this was his fourth game in January with at least one steal and one block. His minutes fluctuate with the matchup, so he's not much more than a rebounding specialist in deep leagues. Through 16 games in January, Achiuwa has averaged 8.1 points and 6.3 rebounds per contest.

  • Kings' Precious Achiuwa: Good to go

Achiuwa (ankle) is available for Wednesday's game against Toronto.

Achiuwa was tabbed questionable ahead of Wednesday's game due to ankle soreness, but he's been upgraded to available. The forward has logged 22 and 18 minutes over the last two games, respectively, but he could see a bump in minutes Wednesday night due to the absence of Domantas Sabonis (knee).

  • Kings' Precious Achiuwa: Questionable with ankle soreness

Achiuwa is questionable for Wednesday's game against the Raptors with right ankle soreness.

The Kings could take a cautious approach with Achiuwa, considering Wednesday is their second game in as many days. With Domantas Sabonis resting against Toronto, Maxime Raynaud and Dylan Cardwell could be in line to share the minutes at center.

  • Kings' Precious Achiuwa: Monster double-double in win

Achiuwa finished with 20 points (7-14 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 4-7 FT), 14 rebounds, two assists, two blocks and two steals over 39 minutes during Wednesday's 112-101 win over New York.

Achiuwa recorded his third double-double of the campaign and notched a season-high 20 points, helping the Kings pick up their third straight win. Achiuwa has been hit-or-miss as a fantasy asset, posting averages of 8.8 points, 6.1 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.0 blocks in 23.8 minutes over his last eight appearances.

  • Kings' Precious Achiuwa: Back in starting lineup Sunday

Achiuwa is in the Kings' starting lineup against the Rockets on Sunday, Lachard Binkley of SI.com reports.

Achiuwa came off the bench against the Warriors on Friday and played just five minutes, but he'll return to the starting lineup Sunday in place of Keon Ellis. Achiuwa has averaged 5.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.0 steals over 17.8 minutes per game over his last 12 outings.

  • Kings' Precious Achiuwa: Headed to bench

Achiuwa will come off the bench for Friday's game against the Warriors, Brenden Nunes of KHTK Sactown Sports 1140 reports.

Achiuwa will be replaced by Keon Ellis in the first unit for Friday's game, as the Kings go with a small-ball approach to combat the Warriors. As a member of the second unit this season, Achiuwa has posted averages of 7.8 points and 5.3 rebounds in 19.1 minutes per game.

  • Kings' Precious Achiuwa: Re-enters starting lineup in loss

Achiuwa provided nine points (4-7 FG, 1-1 3Pt), nine rebounds, one block and one steal in 22 minutes during Tuesday's 100-98 loss to the Mavericks.

Achiuwa will probably remain with the first unit, as Keegan Murray's recent ankle injury will put him out of action for the remainder of the month. It now appears that Domantas Sabonis (knee) will be back before Murray, and it will be interesting to see what the Kings do with the combo of Achiuwa and Maxime Raynaud when Sabonis returns.

  • Kings' Precious Achiuwa: Offers nothing in loss

Achiuwa ended with three points (1-8 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), six rebounds and three assists over 19 minutes during Friday's 129-102 loss to the Suns.

Achiuwa failed to score more than five points for the fourth time in the past five games. Although he has been a consistent part of the rotation, Achiuwa typically offers very little outside of sporadic rebounding numbers. With that said, Maxime Raynaud suffered a knee injury, something that could cause him to miss time moving forward. If that is the case, Sacramento could be forced to give even more minutes to Achiuwa.

  • Kings' Precious Achiuwa: Totals 14 points in loss

Achiuwa recorded 14 points (5-9 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds, two assists, one block and two steals across 22 minutes during Thursday's 120-106 loss to the Celtics.

Achiuwa was far more aggressive on the offensive end after being shut out Tuesday against the Clippers, scoring in double figures for just the fifth time since Dec. 1. He looked sharp from deep, drilling multiple treys in a game for the second time in 27 games this season. Achiuwa is averaging 6.0 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.1 steals in his last eight games, all as a starter.

  • Kings' Precious Achiuwa: Bounces back with double-double

Achiuwa racked up 15 points (6-12 FG, 3-4 3Pt), 11 rebounds, three assists, one block and two steals in 27 minutes during Tuesday's 136-127 loss to the Pistons.

The Kings have stuck with Achiuwa in the starting five, and Keegan Murray's (calf) premature exit padded the big man's bottom line in the loss. The Kings have tried to patch the gap left by Domantas Sabonis (knee) with mixed success, but the combo of Achiuwa and Maxime Raynaud has been somewhat effective. If Murray is held out for additional games, we may see a similar spike in Achiuwa's production as 2025 comes to a close.

  • Kings' Precious Achiuwa: Starting Thursday

Achiuwa is in the starting lineup for Thursday's game in Portland, James Ham of ESPN 1320 Sacramento reports.

Achiuwa will get the start with Zach LaVine (ankle) out, and he'll be joined in the first unit by Russell Westbrook, DeMar DeRozan, Maxime Raynaud and Keegan Murray. Over six starts this season, Achiuwa has posted averages of 8.2 points and 5.8 rebounds per game.
