  • Pelicans' Josh Oduro: Logs season-high 31 minutes

Oduro notched four points (2-2 FG, 0-1 FT), six rebounds and two assists across 31 minutes before fouling out of Sunday's 132-126 loss to the Timberwolves. After spending most of his time with the G League's Birmingham Squadron, Oduro was rewarded with a one-year, two-way contract with the Pelicans in March. He had been waived by New Orleans during training camp last year, so Oduro will likely be fighting for a contract opportunity this fall once again.

  • Pelicans' Josh Oduro: First career double-double

Oduro provided 12 points (5-8 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-3 FT), 12 rebounds and one assist in 24 minutes during Friday's 144-118 loss to the Celtics. Oduro produced his first career double-double in what was only his second career appearance Friday. The 25-year-old big man was a standout performer for the Birmingham Squadron, having averaged 16.4 points, 8.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.2 blocks per game during the G League regular season, and now Oduro is getting an opportunity to show what he's capable of at the NBA level while the Pelicans begin to shut down some of their stars.

  • Pelicans' Josh Oduro: Awarded two-way deal

Oduro agreed Wednesday with the Pelicans on a two-way contract, Shams Charania of ESPN reports. A second-year big man out of Providence, Oduro could get the chance to make his NBA debut at some point during the final month of the season now that he's been awarded the Pelicans' third and final two-way spot. After being cut by the Pelicans in October, the 6-foot-9, 240-pound center has spent the entire season in the G League with New Orleans' affiliate, the Birmingham Squadron. Through 35 appearances with the Squadron, Oduro has averaged 14.4 points (on 56.3 percent shooting from the field), 7.4 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.2 blocks in 28.6 minutes per game.
