Wizards' Justin Champagnie: Ruled out for Sunday
Champagnie has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Hornets due to right knee tendinopathy.
Champagnie exited Friday's win over Indiana early due to right knee soreness and will be sidelined Sunday with the knee issue. His next opportunity to play will come Tuesday against Atlanta. With the 24-year-old forward unavailable, Will Riley could see increased minutes.

Wizards' Justin Champagnie: Exits early Friday
Champagnie won't return to Friday's game against the Pacers due to right knee soreness, Josh Robbins of The Athletic reports. He'll finish the game with zero points (0-1 FG), seven rebounds and one assist across 11 minutes.
After being left out of the rotation for Thursday's 112-105 win over Indiana, Champagnie moved into the starting five for the rematch Friday while Kyshawn George (toe) was ruled out. The injury ended up spelling an early end to Champagnie's night, though he at least provided some strong production on the boards before checking out of the game. He should be considered questionable for Sunday's game against the Hornets until Washington offers an update on his status.

Wizards' Justin Champagnie: Starting Friday
Champagnie is in the Wizards' starting lineup against the Pacers on Friday.
Champagnie was a healthy DNP for Thursday's win over the Pacers, but he'll be back in action for the Wizards on Friday due to the absence of Kyshawn George (toe). Champagnie has averaged 15.0 points, 7.8 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.8 threes and 1.0 steals over 21.5 minutes per game over his last four outings.

Wizards' Justin Champagnie: Drops out of rotation Thursday
Champagnie (coach's decision) went unused off the bench in Thursday's 112-105 win over the Pacers.
After playing at least 15 minutes in each of Washington's last five games while providing well-rounded production (12.4 points, 7.0 rebounds, 1.4 three-pointers, 1.2 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.8 blocks per contest), Champagnie was surprisingly dropped from the rotation Thursday. At this point in the season, the 15-39 Wizards' main objective is seemingly to improve their odds in the draft lottery, which will make it difficult to predict their nightly rotations down the stretch. With that in mind, Champagnie looks like he'll make for a risky streaming option, given that his minutes and spot in the rotation are likely to be extremely volatile the rest of the way.

Wizards' Justin Champagnie: Coming off bench Wednesday
Champagnie isn't part of the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against Cleveland.
Champagnie's streak of three consecutive starts will come to a close as the Wizards trot out a lineup of Bub Carrington, Tre Johnson, Kyshawn George, Bilal Coulibaly and Jamir Watkins. With Alex Sarr (hamstring) and Tristan Vukcevic (illness) sidelined, Champagnie will likely be tasked with plenty of playing time despite the reserve role.

Wizards' Justin Champagnie: Hits for season-high 21 in loss
Champagnie ended with 21 points (5-8 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 10-10 FT), nine rebounds, two assists and two blocks across 22 minutes during Saturday's 127-113 loss to the Nets.
Making his second straight start for the shorthanded Wizards, Champagnie produced a new season scoring high thanks to an impressive performance at the free-throw line while just missing his fourth double-double of the campaign. The fifth-year forward has scored in double digits in six of his last 11 games (four starts), averaging 10.4 points, 6.0 boards, 1.3 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.9 threes in 23.1 minutes a contest over that stretch.

Wizards' Justin Champagnie: Scores 14 points in start
Champagnie chipped in 14 points (5-10 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 1-1 FT), seven rebounds, one assist and one block over 15 minutes during Thursday's 126-117 victory over Detroit.
Champagnie stepped into the starting lineup following the departure of Khris Middleton and posted a decent shooting line despite being limited to 15 minutes. However, Will Riley, Sharife Cooper, Anthony Gill and Jamir Watkins all saw significantly more playing time than Champagnie on a night in which the Wizards were thin across the board, so it'll be worth monitoring whether he sticks in the starting five moving forward.

Wizards' Justin Champagnie: Starting Thursday
Champagnie will start Thursday versus the Pistons.
With Khris Middleton getting shipped off to Dallas, Champagnie could emerge as a trade deadline winner if he's able to secure his spot in the Wizards' starting lineup. Over 11 starts this season, Champagnie has recorded averages of 8.7 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 0.9 triples per contest on 51/35/80 shooting splits.

With Khris Middleton back in the lineup following a one-game absence due to maintenance reasons, Champagnie will slide to the second unit. Over 12 outings off the bench in January, he averaged 10.3 points, 6.2 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.0 steals in 23.4 minutes per game.

Champagnie is in the Wizards' starting lineup against the Lakers on Friday, Daniel Starkand of LakersNation.com reports.
Champagnie will enter the Wizards' starting lineup Friday for the 11th time this season due to the absence of Khris Middleton (knee). Champagnie has averaged 9.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.1 steals over 24.3 minutes per game over his last 10 outings (one start).

Wizards' Justin Champagnie: Double-double in Saturday's loss
Champagnie totaled 15 points (7-9 FG, 1-3 3Pt), 11 rebounds, three assists, two blocks and three steals in 32 minutes off the bench during Saturday's 119-115 loss to Charlotte.
The double-double was the third of the season for Champagnie, with the last one coming Dec. 28 against the Grizzlies. The fifth-year forward has been a big part of the Wizards' rotation in January, and he's played more than 20 minutes in nine of the last 10 games (two starts) while averaging 10.5 points, 6.4 boards, 1.9 assists, 1.0 steals and 0.9 threes in 24.6 minutes a contest.

Wizards' Justin Champagnie: Just misses double-double off bench
Champagnie closed Saturday's 121-115 loss to Denver with 13 points (6-11 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 1-1 FT), nine rebounds, one assist and three steals over 26 minutes off the bench.
Moving back to the second unit after getting a spot start Friday, Champagnie stayed productive and nearly tallied his third double-double of the season. The fifth-year forward has scored in double digits in eight of his last 12 games (two starts), averaging 11.4 points, 7.3 boards, 1.3 assists, 1.0 threes, 0.8 steals and 0.8 blocks in 24.8 minutes per tilt during that span.

Wizards' Justin Champagnie: Headed to bench
Champagnie will come off the bench for Saturday's game in Denver.
Khris Middleton is back from his rest day, so Champagnie will return to a reserve role. As a member of the second unit this season, Champagnie owns averages of 6.4 points and 5.5 rebounds in 16.4 minutes per game.

Wizards' Justin Champagnie: Starting vs. Sacramento
Champagnie will start against the Kings on Friday.
With Khris Middleton (knee) unavailable for the front end of this back-to-back set, Champagnie will get the starting nod. Over nine starts so far this season, the 24-year-old forward has averaged 8.0 points and 5.9 rebounds in 22.3 minutes per tilt.

Wizards' Justin Champagnie: Joining second unit Friday
Champagnie is not starting Friday's game against the Pelicans.
Kyshawn George (hip) is returning to action Friday, which is the likely cause for Champagnie falling into the second unit. He has averaged 11.8 points, 7.4 rebounds, 1.1 blocks and 0.8 steals in 23.9 minutes per tilt across his last eight games off the bench.

Wizards' Justin Champagnie: Jumps into starting lineup
Champagnie is part of the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against Philadelphia.
The Wizards are without three of their five regular starters -- CJ McCollum (quadriceps), Khris Middleton (knee) and Kyshawn George (hip) -- so Champagnie has been elevated to the starting five. He's averaging 8.3 points and 6.0 rebounds across eight starts this season.

Wizards' Justin Champagnie: Adds 17 points in win
Champagnie racked up 17 points (6-7 FG, 4-5 3Pt, 1-2 FT), three rebounds, three assists and two blocks over 22 minutes during Tuesday's 120-112 win over the Magic.
Champagnie continues to be impactful on both ends of the court, drilling a season-high four threes and swatting two shots for the second straight game. The 24-year-old forward missed just one shot in the contest and continues to see steady run with Kyshawn George (hip) sidelined, playing 20-plus minutes in five of the past six games and scoring in double figures in five of those outings. He's averaging 12.7 points, 7.2 rebounds, 1.7 threes and 1.3 blocks across 25 minutes per game during that stretch.

Wizards' Justin Champagnie: Drops season-high 20 points
Champagnie contributed 20 points (9-12 FG, 2-3 3Pt), seven rebounds, one block and one steal over 25 minutes during Friday's 119-99 win over the Nets.
Champagnie continues to find a way to contribute, scoring double digits for the fourth straight game. Despite coming off the bench, Champagnie has been quietly putting together a strong run of production, averaging 13.3 points, 8.5 rebounds, 1.5 three-pointers and 2.5 combined steals and blocks in 27.3 minutes per game over his past four appearances. His role is likely to fluctuate, at least for the foreseeable future. However, assuming Washington makes some moves prior to the trade deadline, Champagnie could be a sneaky stash candidate.
