Top Jalen Suggs News

  • Magic's Jalen Suggs: Doubtful for Saturday

Suggs (hip) is doubtful for Saturday's game against the Jazz.

Suggs is trending towards missing his second straight game for Orlando. He was not given a timetable by the Magic, so fantasy managers can consider him day-to-day since he hasn't been completely ruled out for this contest.

  • Magic's Jalen Suggs: Out with hip contusion

Suggs won't play in Thursday's game against Denver due to a left hip contusion, per Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel.

Suggs suffered the injury during Saturday's loss to the Knicks, and his timetable for a return remains up in the air. For now, the star guard can be considered doubtful for Saturday's tilt in Utah. Anthony Black is worthy of streaming consideration in all formats, while Tyus Jones might be worth a look in deeper leagues.

  • Magic's Jalen Suggs: Tending to hip contusion

Suggs was diagnosed with a left hip contusion following an MRI on Monday, Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN.com reports.

Suggs' timeline to resume playing remains murky, as his return date will depend on how quickly he responds to treatment. At least for the time being, fantasy managers can consider him unlikely to play in Thursday's game against Denver. Anthony Black has stepped up this season and could be asked to carry more responsibility out of the backcourt in Suggs' potential absence, and Tyus Jones could also take on a more prominent role in the backcourt rotation.

  • Magic's Jalen Suggs: May miss extended time

Suggs (hip) might be out for an extended period, Tim Bontemps of ESPN.com reports Saturday.

Suggs was clearly battling discomfort for a few games, but he was playing through the pain and scored 25 first-half points against the Knicks on Saturday during an NBA Cup semifinals matchup. However, the point guard aggravated the issue in the third quarter and was ultimately unable to finish the contest despite multiple efforts to stay in the game. Suggs will be evaluated over the next couple of days, but it sounds like the team is preparing to be without him for at least a few weeks. "He's been battling through some pain the last few games," Magic forward Paolo Banchero said. "He's just been giving it his all for the team and kind of playing through it, so you hope it's not too bad, whatever the injury is. We don't want to lose him."

  • Magic's Jalen Suggs: Does not return Saturday

Suggs (hip) did not return to Saturday's 132-120 loss to the Knicks. He finished with 26 points (10-16 FG, 2-8 3Pt, 4-6 FT), seven assists and two rebounds across 29 minutes.

Suggs exited Saturday's contest in the fourth quarter due to left hip soreness. The 24-year-old point guard tried to play through the issue but appeared to be in a considerable amount of pain before the Magic fouled to get him out of the game. His status will be worth monitoring ahead of Thursday's matchup against the Nuggets.

  • Magic's Jalen Suggs: Questionable to return Saturday

Suggs exited to the locker room in the fourth quarter of Saturday's game against the Knicks and is questionable to return due to a sore left hip.

Suggs appeared to be dealing with the hip issue throughout the second half and eventually headed back to the locker room with 7:35 remaining in the final quarter. If the 24-year-old point guard is unable to return, Jase Richardson and Tyus Jones are candidates to pick up the slack the rest of the way.

  • Magic's Jalen Suggs: Cashes in trio of triples in win

Suggs closed with 20 points (7-13 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 3-4 FT), three rebounds, four assists and two steals in 31 minutes during Tuesday's 117-108 win over the Heat.

Suggs continues to remain active on the defensive end, extending his steal streak to seven games, averaging 15.9 points, 3.7 rebounds, 4.7 assists, 2.7 steals, 0.9 blocks and 2.1 threes in that span. While he has not been shooting the ball well from beyond the arc (meager 33.3 percent clip this season), he continues to factor in as a two-way presence and has been integral to Orlando's success.

  • Magic's Jalen Suggs: Absent from injury report

Suggs (leg) is not listed on the injury report for Tuesday's game against the Heat.

Suggs left Sunday's loss to the Knicks with an apparent leg injury, though the problem has proven to be of minimal concern. The 2021 first-rounder should face no limitations Tuesday. Over his last 12 games, Suggs has averaged 16.8 points, 4.8 assists, 4.3 rebounds and 2.1 steals in 28.4 minutes per tilt.

  • Magic's Jalen Suggs: Doesn't return Sunday

Suggs (leg) exited to the locker room in the fourth quarter of Sunday's 106-100 loss to the Knicks and didn't return. He finished with 17 points (6-16 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 4-5 FT), four assists, three rebounds, two steals and one block in 32 minutes.

Suggs limped to the locker room after grabbing at his upper leg/groin area in the final quarter, though he returned to the bench shortly thereafter. The 24-year-old point guard's status will still be worth monitoring ahead of Tuesday's NBA Cup game against Miami, and if he's unable to play, Anthony Black is expected to enter the starting five.

  • Magic's Jalen Suggs: Leaves for locker room

Suggs exited to the locker room after sustaining an apparent leg injury in the fourth quarter of Sunday's game against the Knicks, Philip Rossman-Reich of OrlandoMagicDaily.com reports.

Suggs appeared to grab at his upper leg/groin area and was seen stretching before eventually checking out and limping to the locker room. It wouldn't be shocking if he doesn't return with the game nearing its end. Anthony Black is expected to pick up the slack if Suggs cannot return.

  • Magic's Jalen Suggs: Scores 22 points with five dimes

Suggs closed Friday's 106-105 victory over the Heat with 22 points (9-19 FG, 4-7 3Pt), three rebounds, five assists, one block and one steal in 28 minutes.

Suggs has been hot over the past two games, posting averages of 23.0 points, 4.5 assists, 3.5 rebounds, 3.5 triples and 2.0 steals per game. He'll draw a tough matchup against New York on Sunday, so it'll be interesting to see if he can keep his hot streak going.

  • Magic's Jalen Suggs: Pours in 24 points

Suggs logged 24 points (10-20 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 1-2 FT), four assists, four rebounds and three steals in 27 minutes of Wednesday's 114-112 loss to the Spurs.

This was Suggs' fourth game of the campaign with at least 20 points. His per-minute production has been terrific this season, but his upside is currently limited by modest workloads at times. Even at 24.8 minutes per contest, Suggs is on pace for top-50 per-game value in nine-category formats.

  • Magic's Jalen Suggs: Struggles with shot in win

Suggs had 14 points (4-17 FG, 2-11 3Pt, 4-4 FT), four rebounds, one assist, one block and four steals across 34 minutes during Friday's 112-109 victory over the Pistons.

Suggs had a solid line across the board and certainly made his presence felt on the defensive end with four steals. However, his shooting numbers were subpar to say the least. He needed 17 shots to score 14 points and missed all but two of his 11 three-pointers. Excluding the Nov. 25 matchup against the 76ers in which he was tossed, Suggs has scored in double digits in nine straight outings.

  • Magic's Jalen Suggs: Tossed Tuesday

Suggs was assessed two technical fouls and ejected in the second quarter of Tuesday's game against the 76ers, Cody Taylor of USA Today reports.

Suggs entered into an altercation and pushed an opposing player before eventually being tossed. He'll finish with four points (2-7 FG, 0-3 3Pt), 11 assists, five rebounds, two steals and two blocks across 16 minutes. With Suggs unavailable for the remainder of the game, Anthony Black and Tyus Jones are candidates for increased playing time in the second half.

  • Magic's Jalen Suggs: Cleared from injury report

Suggs (knee) is off the injury report for Tuesday's game against the 76ers.

Suggs missed Sunday's game against the Celtics for maintenance reasons, but the stage is set for his return Tuesday. The floor general has averaged 14.4 points, 4.6 assists, 3.8 rebounds and 1.5 steals in 23.9 minutes per contest over 13 games this season. Anthony Black should revert back to the bench Tuesday.

  • Magic's Jalen Suggs: Won't play Sunday

Suggs (rest) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Celtics.

Suggs posted 26 points (8-15 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 8-9 FT), three rebounds and one assist across 32 minutes during Saturday's win over the Knicks. However, he's yet to play in both halves of a back-to-back set this season, and that won't change Sunday. Anthony Black is expected to start in Suggs' absence, with Tyus Jones potentially seeing an increased role as well.

  • Magic's Jalen Suggs: Uncertain for Sunday

Suggs (injury management) is uncertain for Sunday's game against the Celtics, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports. He ended Saturday's 133-121 win over the Knicks with 26 points (8-15 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 8-9 FT), three rebounds and one assist across 32 minutes.

Suggs finished as Orlando's third-leading scorer Saturday, helping propel the Magic to victory in the front end of their back-to-back set. The 24-year-old point guard has yet to play in both halves of a back-to-back this season, so his status for Sunday's contest will be worth monitoring. If he's ultimately given the night off, Anthony Black and Tyus Jones are candidates for increased minutes, while rookie first-rounder Jase Richardson could enter the rotation.

  • Magic's Jalen Suggs: Leads Orlando with 23 points

Suggs logged 23 points (8-15 FG, 5-9 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds, seven assists, two blocks and two steals in 26 minutes during Thursday's 129-101 win over the Clippers.

Suggs set a new season high in scoring with a stellar showing Thursday evening. He was particularly effective from range just a couple of days after shooting an abysmal 0-for-7 from downtown in Tuesday's win over the Warriors. Suggs also impressed as a distributor, pacing Orlando with seven dimes.

  • Magic's Jalen Suggs: Will play Tuesday

Suggs (groin) will play in Tuesday's game against the Warriors.

Suggs will return to the mix after sitting out Sunday's loss to the Rockets due to groin soreness. His presence should push Anthony Black to the bench Tuesday. Suggs has averaged 12.5 points, 4.4 assists, 3.9 rebounds and 1.6 steals in 22.1 minutes per contest across 10 games this season.

  • Magic's Jalen Suggs: Goes through shootaround

Suggs (groin) participated in Tuesday's morning walkthrough, according to Orlando Magic Daily.

Suggs is currently listed as questionable for Tuesday's game against the Warriors after missing Sunday's loss to Houston. His status will be updated Tuesday evening, so he's essentially going to be a game-time call. Anthony Black is likely to see increased reps in the backcourt if Suggs is unable to play.
