Grizzlies' Zach Edey: Gets surgery on elbow
The Grizzlies announced that Edey (ankle) underwent a procedure Tuesday to address lingering discomfort in his left elbow.
Since he's already been in rehab mode and was ruled out for the rest of the season after undergoing surgery March 3 to address ongoing discomfort and bone stress in his left ankle, Edey opted to get his aching elbow taken care of with another procedure. Edey is expected to make a full recovery from both the ankle surgery and elbow procedure prior to the start of training camp. Before being shut down in mid-December due to the ankle issue, Edey looked to be in line for a second-year breakout, as he had converted at a 63.3 percent clip from the field and posted averages of 13.6 points, 11.1 rebounds, 1.9 blocks, 1.1 assists and 0.6 steals in 25.8 minutes per game over his 11 appearances. The Grizzlies view the 7-foot-3 big man as a key building block and will plan for him to settle back in as their starting center in 2026-27 so long as he's able to stay healthy.

Grizzlies' Zach Edey: To miss remainder of season
Edey underwent surgery Tuesday to resolve discomfort and bone stress in his left ankle, and he'll miss the rest of the 2025-26 season.
Memphis announced Sunday that Edey would require surgery, but he wasn't officially ruled out for the rest of the season until after going under the knife Tuesday. The club expects the big man to make a full recovery ahead of the 2026-27 campaign.

Grizzlies' Zach Edey: Will undergo ankle surgery
The Grizzlies announced Sunday that Edey is without a timetable for a return and will undergo surgery to address lingering discomfort and talar bone stress in his left ankle.
Edey underwent surgery on the same ankle last June and hasn't played since Dec. 7 due to the ongoing injury. Memphis is expected to provide a clearer timeline for the big man's return to action following his surgery, though it wouldn't be shocking to see the 22-36 Grizzlies shut him down for the remainder of the season. On a more positive note, the 2024 first-rounder is expected to make a full recovery.

Grizzlies' Zach Edey: Out another six weeks
The Grizzlies announced Wednesday that Edey continues to recover from a stress reaction in his left ankle and will maintain his current plan of offloading and rehabilitation before being re-evaluated in six weeks.
After Edey initially sustained the injury Dec. 11, the Grizzlies relayed that the second-year center would be shut down for at least four weeks before being re-evaluated. Despite having spent the past month rehabbing the injury, Edey seemingly hasn't taken any major steps forward in his recovery and will now need another six weeks to let his ankle heal up. As a result of this latest update, Edey appears unlikely to be ready to return to game action until at least early March, making it tough to justify rostering him in most redraft formats. With Brandon Clarke (calf) also facing a long-term absence, Jock Landale should continue to hold down the fort as the Grizzlies' starting center.
