  • Timberwolves' Rudy Gobert: Comes close to double-double

Gobert closed with 21 points (9-11 FG, 3-3 FT), nine rebounds, three assists and one block over 32 minutes during Thursday's 135-119 win over the Bulls.

Gobert engaged in a battle with Nikola Vucevic, and while the Bulls big man outplayed him from a statistical perspective, the Frenchman delivered an impressive outing in his own right. Gobert missed just two of his 11 shots from the field and finished just one board shy of what would've been his fourth double-double of the campaign. This should be categorized as a huge bounce-back effort for the veteran, who had scored 10 or fewer points in three of his previous four contests.

  • Timberwolves' Anthony Edwards: Efficient performance in win

Edwards ended with 33 points (13-23 FG, 5-9 3Pt, 2-2 FT), eight rebounds, six assists and one block across 35 minutes during Thursday's 135-119 victory over the Bulls.

The Timberwolves got off to a slow start in this game, but Edwards eventually took over and carried Minnesota to a huge win on the road. The star shooting guard surpassed the 30-point mark for the third time in eight appearances this season, and his role as Minnesota's go-to player on offense is set in stone. Scoring numbers aside, Edwards' improvement as a three-point specialist is worth noting -- he's averaging more than 5.0 made threes per game.

  • Timberwolves' Mike Conley: Posts double-double Thursday

Conley registered 14 points (5-9 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 1-1 FT), two rebounds and 11 assists across 26 minutes during Thursday's 135-119 win over the Bulls.

Conley delivered his best game of the season Thursday after notching season-high marks in both points and assists. Even though the veteran is a capable starter and an excellent distributor, this was his first game with more than six dimes on the campaign, so this kind of output may not be sustainable on a long-term basis. The numbers aren't flashy by any means, but Conley has now scored at least nine points in five of his last six games.

  • Timberwolves' Naz Reid: Drops 25 points in win

Reid produced 25 points (9-13 FG, 5-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), nine rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal over 26 minutes during Monday's 114-93 win over the Hornets.

Reid's 25 points were a season-high mark, as well as his five makes from beyond the arc. Despite coming off the bench, Reid has seen healthy workloads for the Timberwolves, and his production has been strong. Through seven games, he's posting averages of 15.3 points, 6.6 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 0.7 blocks and 2.3 three-pointers.

  • Timberwolves' Josh Minott: Used sparingly in victory

Minott had one point (1-2 FT), one rebound and one block in eight minutes during Monday's 114-93 victory over the Hornets.

Minott slid into the rotation for just the second time this season, playing eight minutes of garbage time. He is typically only ever utilized when the scoreline is one-sided. There is no indication that his role is going to change moving forward.

  • Timberwolves' Donte DiVincenzo: Strong two-way effort

DiVincenzo finished Monday's 114-93 victory over the Hornets with 14 points (5-9 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 1-1 FT), five rebounds, three assists, two blocks and two steals across 28 minutes.

DiVincenzo took advantage of a favorable matchup, turning in arguably his best all-around performance of the season. He continues to share the point guard role with Mike Conley, as both players provide value to the team. An injury to Conley would thrust DiVincenzo into a role similar to what he had down the stretch last season in New York. As for right now, DiVincenzo should be a lock to see close to 25 minutes per night.

  • Timberwolves' Jaden McDaniels: Modest production Monday

McDaniels provided nine points (3-10 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 2-4 FT), three rebounds and two blocks in 22 minutes during Monday's 114-93 victory over the Hornets.

McDaniels put together another mediocre performance, continuing his slow start to the season. Despite starting in all seven games, McDaniels is averaging just 8.6 points, 1.1 blocks and 0.9 three-pointers in 27.2 minutes per game. His per-minute production is less than ideal, something that has plagued him throughout his career.

  • Timberwolves' Rudy Gobert: Will go vs. Hornets

Gobert (ankle) has been cleared to play Monday night against Charlotte.

Gobert was considered a true game-time decision leading up to tipoff, and he was able to prove his health during pregame warmups. The big man logged only 23 minutes in his previous appearance Saturday against the Spurs but figures to take on a larger workload Monday night.

  • Timberwolves' Rudy Gobert: Iffy against Buzz City for Monday

Gobert (ankle) is questionable for Monday's matchup versus the Hornets.

Gobert is dealing with a left ankle sprain and is in jeopardy of missing his first game of the 2024-25 campaign. The 32-year-old is averaging a double-double with 10.8 points, 10.3 rebounds, 1.9 steals-plus-blocks and 1.5 assists across 33.2 minutes per game in six regular-season appearances thus far. If the veteran big man is ruled out, Naz Reid will be expected to start.

  • Timberwolves' P.J. Dozier: Rare appearance in loss

Dozier registered four points (1-1 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 1-2 FT) and one rebound over three minutes during Saturday's 113-103 loss to the Spurs.

Dozier saw his first action since the 2022-23 season, logging three minutes in garbage time. After spending the previous season with Serbian club Partizan Belgrade, Dozier was signed to a one-year deal during the preseason. Unless the Timberwolves are struck down with multiple injuries, Dozier is unlikely to be anything more than a depth piece this season.

  • Timberwolves' Terrence Shannon: Makes season debut Saturday

Shannon registered no counting stats across three minutes during Saturday's 113-103 loss to the Spurs.

Shannon left the bench for the first time in his career as the Timberwolves waved the white flag against the Spurs. Along with several other fringe players, Shannon got to feel what it's like on a real NBA court. However, this feeling is unlikely to last too long, given he will struggle to play meaningful minutes on most nights.

  • Timberwolves' Rob Dillingham: Plays first career minutes in loss

Dillingham registered zero points (0-1 FG) and two assists in three minutes during Saturday's 113-103 loss to San Antonio.

Dillingham played three minutes Saturday, seeing his first regular-season action in the NBA. Despite the fact the Timberwolves traded up to secure him in the draft, it appears as though he is going to spend the majority of the season on the bench. While it is always great to see a rookie making their debut, this is unlikely to result in consistent minutes moving forward.
