Heat's Keshad Johnson: Re-signing with Heat
Johnson agreed to a two-way contract with the Heat on Thursday, per Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel.
Miami didn't extend Johnson a qualifying offer ahead of the Las Vegas Summer League, but the two sides ultimately renegotiated a new deal. Johnson joins Vladislav Goldin and Tre Donaldson as the squad's trio of two-way players and should see ample playing time for the G League's Sioux Falls Skyforce this season.

Heat's Nick Richards: Agrees to join Heat
Richards agreed to a one-year deal with the Heat on Thursday, per Shams Charania of ESPN.
Miami fortifies its center depth with the move. Over 20 regular-season appearances for the Bulls in 2025-26, Richards averaged 9.3 points, 7.6 rebounds and 0.9 blocks in 22.4 minutes per game while shooting 52.3 percent from the field following a trade from Phoenix. The big man is likely to settle for a lesser role in his new digs, but he has a chance to serve as the No. 2 center behind Bam Adebayo.

Heat's Pelle Larsson: Looking to maintain key role
Larsson dropped 31 points (9-17 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 11-14 FT) and five rebounds for Sweden in Thursday's FIBA World Cup qualifier against Finland.
Larsson is leaving a strong impression while getting reps overseas this offseason, as his pathway to minutes for the Heat during the upcoming season has another obstacle following the signing of Klay Thompson. Larsson should still have an Opening Night role on the wing, as his main competition for playing time otherwise looks to be rookie second-rounder Ryan Conwell and a mostly unproven Myron Gardner.

Heat's Klay Thompson: Officially agrees to deal with Heat
Thompson cleared waivers and officially agreed to a two-year, $11.5 million contract with the Heat on Sunday, Sam Amick and Darnell Mayberry of The Athletic report.
Miami acquired Giannis Antetokounmpo this offseason, but the Heat are now adding Thompson in hopes of bolstering the team's chances of winning another championship. The 2011 No. 11 overall pick is coming off his worst season, averaging 11.7 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.4 assists across 21.7 minutes, all career lows, in 69 regular-season games with the Mavericks. It's unlikely that Thompson will return to All-Star form with the Heat, considering he will turn 37 during the 2026-27 campaign. Regardless of his role, Thompson should have an opportunity to be much more productive than he was in Dallas, especially since his shooting acumen will provide spacing for Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo.

Heat's Klay Thompson: Reaches buyout with Mavs, signing with Heat
The Mavericks announced Friday they have reached a buyout agreement with Thompson, who's expected to sign with the Heat after he clears waivers, per Shams Charania of ESPN.
Thompson's status had been in limbo this offseason, so it's not overly surprising to see him and Dallas part ways. The veteran sharpshooter is coming off perhaps the worst season of his career, ending with career-low averages of 11.7 points, 2.1 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 2.9 three-pointers in 21.7 minutes per game through 69 regular-season appearances (eight starts). Despite that, Miami appears to have quickly swooped in to secure Thompson's services as a three-and-D presence with championship experience.

Heat's Davion Mitchell: Role could grow
Mitchell could be in line for a larger role after Miami traded Tyler Herro in the deal for Giannis Antetokounmpo, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sentinel reports.
With the Heat expected to lean on Mitchell as a primary backcourt facilitator, he'll have the opportunity to capitalize on the attention Antetokounmpo commands offensively. However, Mitchell's fantasy value will likely hinge on whether he can provide enough scoring to complement his defensive impact. Over 70 regular-season appearances in 2025-26, he averaged 9.3 points, 6.5 assists, 2.7 rebounds and 1.0 steals while shooting 49.0 percent from the field.

Heat's Bam Adebayo: New frontcourt partner incoming
Adebayo's (back) fantasy outlook should remain strong after Miami acquired Giannis Antetokounmpo, though his offensive role could shift alongside another high-usage frontcourt star, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sentinel opines.
While Adebayo may sacrifice some scoring volume, Antetokounmpo's ability to collapse defenses should create more efficient scoring opportunities, and the duo projects to form one of the league's premier defensive frontcourts. Adebayo nursed a back issue to end the 2025-26 season, but he should be a full go for training camp.
