Broncos win!
Will Lutz drills a 53-yard FG to give the Broncos a 17-14 win in overtime. Broncos win a rock right to improve to 4-2. Seattle loses another hard-fought game to drop to 3-3 and 2.5 games behind the 49ers in the NFC West standings.

Time and time again, the Denver Broncos' defense stood tall to stymie the Seattle Seahawks in a 17-14 overtime win to open Week 6 in the NFL. The Broncos racked up five sacks and forced three turnovers against the reigning Super Bowl champions, sending them back to the Pacific Northwest with a surprisingly modest .500 record through six games. Denver, meanwhile, improved to 4-2 with the "Thursday Night Football" triumph.
The third of those takeaways came in overtime when Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold threw his second interception in three possessions. That set up a game-winning 53-yard field goal off the foot of Wil Lutz.
Denver survived a late push from Seattle that erased a 14-3 advantage and forced the extra period. It was fitting that the defense and special teams put the game on ice, given their strength all game long, and while the offense was as effective as ever in the first half, it cooled off after the Broncos returned from the locker room. J.K. Dobbins and RJ Harvey capped off the team's two longest touchdown drives of the season in the first half but were mostly held in check over the final half hour and overtime.
While the Broncos have been far from perfect over the season's first month and a half, they are two games clear of .500 and squarely in the AFC West race. Seattle, on the other hand, is among the more disappointing teams in the league and has work to do in the competitive NFC West, where the San Francisco 49ers remain unbeaten and the Los Angeles Rams also stand in the mix.
CBS Sports was with you throughout the Broncos' victory. Below are our takeaways, highlights and in-game analysis.
Seattle had all the momentum going into overtime. They scored 11 unanswered points in the fourth quarter and started the extra session with the ball. But Denver's defense quickly forced Seattle into a third-and-7, and on the play, Darnold threw an ill-advised pass that was picked off by Ja'Quan McMillian.
Denver's offense didn't do much after that, but they gained enough to set up Lutz's game-winning kick.
The Broncos' defense won the game despite being without defensive backs Patrick Surtain II and Talanoa Hufanga due to injury.
Denver's defense overwhelmed Seattle's offense in the first half. They held the Seahawks to just 91 yards in the first half and did not allow Seattle's offense to reach the red zone during the game's first 30 minutes.
The Broncos' success was predicated on minimizing the running game, pressuring Darnold, and forcing him to beat them with his arm. Darnold had his moments, but in the end, the Broncos' defense made plays when it mattered most.
Alex Singleton led the Orange Crush defense with 13 tackles. Seven other Broncos contributed to the unit's five sacks of Darnold.
Seattle stormed back in the fourth quarter. The defense shut down Denver's offense in the third and fourth quarters, and the offense mounted two impressive drives to force overtime.
Darnold made two big mistakes, but he also showed resilience. After throwing for just 52 yards on 7 of 15 passing in the first half, Darnold finished the game with 278 yards on 27 of 51 passing. Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who caught two passes for 11 yards in the first half, finished with 134 yards on 12 catches.
Rashid Shaheed chipped in with 66 receiving yards that included a 42-yard catch, and his impressive two-point catch that made it a 14-11 game in the fourth quarter.
This was Denver's first win with fewer than 175 yards since 1983, John Elway's rookie season.
That, however, is probably history Sean Payton would rather not make. While a win is a win, the Broncos' offense continues to struggle. Specifically, it was another rough outing for Bo Nix, who threw for just 107 yards and averaged a mere 6.3 yards per completion.
Nix didn't throw it deep, was stuffed for no gain on a designed running play in overtime, and nearly cost the Broncos the game at the end of regulation when his third-down pass was almost picked by Uchenna Nwosu.
Denver won, and they are 4-2. But they've got a serious issue at the quarterback position.
Will Lutz drills a 53-yard FG to give the Broncos a 17-14 win in overtime. Broncos win a rock right to improve to 4-2. Seattle loses another hard-fought game to drop to 3-3 and 2.5 games behind the 49ers in the NFC West standings.
Darnold picked by Ja'Quan McMillian, giving Denver the ball on Seattle's 43. Close to FG range already.
JSN converts on a third down catch to move the chains. He had that big drop last week vs. the 49ers but comes up with the catch here.
A hold on Seattle's return team to start OT pushes start of the drive back to their own 11.
Myers hits the FG and we're heading to OT!
Myles coming out for the FG
Kupp gets it to the Seahawks' 23, and Seahawks are going to keep the offense on the field with 10 seconds left.
Darnold hits Shaheed for 10 yards to Denver's 40 with 25 seconds left.
Seattle only has to use two timeouts after Nix throws an incompletion on third down. Seattle then gets a long return by Shaheed that gives the Seahawks a first down near midfield with 57 seconds left and have a timeout.
Kris Abrams-Draine steps in front of Darnold's pass, which gives Denver the ball at their own 31. Seattle still has all of its timeouts left.
Darnold hits JSN in between THREE defenders. Seahawks cross midfield just before the two-minute warning.
Nix is taken down by Emmanwori on third down, forcing Denver's fifth punt in their last six possessions. Seahawks get the ball with a chance to tie the game with 3:24 left. They'll start the drive at their own 26.
Seahawks make it a three-point game on a great TD run on a second effort by Holani and an incredible 2-point catch by Shaheed. It's a 14-11 game with 5:41 left.
Big props to Darnold, who has stepped up in this half. His stats aren't great, but he's playing some gritty football and is keeping Seattle in this game.
Darnold doing what he can to keep Seattle in this game. He recognized that he had a lane and took off for the first down on third-and-1. Seattle in the red zone.
Darnold hits JSN on a quick slant. Broncos are in FG territory with 7:20 left, down 14-3.
Good call for Broncos not to go for it deep in their own territory. But they did waste a timeout trying to get Seattle to jump offsides. It doesn't look like it's going to matter, but it could if Seattle is able to make it a one possession game.
Darnold hits Troy Horton for a 13-yard strike on third down to move the chains. Seattle again in Denver territory, but they continue to struggle against Denver's run defense.
Really nice power run by Wilson gives Seattle a first down near midfield. Wilson stuffed for a small game as we head to the fourth quarter.
Neither team scored that quarter. Nix was 3 of 7 for 15 yards in the quarter, Darnold 9 of 12 for 96 yards.
Nix tries to hit Sutton downfield on third-and-long, but it's broken up by Devon Witherspoon, who has had a big night. Nix has had some good moments, but for the most part, it hasn't been a great night for him.
Broncos have run for just two yards this quarter. Like Seattle, they're relying too much on their quarterback.
This has turned into a defensive-dominated game, conjuring up memories of early Thursday night games.
Nik Bonitto brings down Darnold on third down with a nasty spin move. That's Denver's fourth sack of the night.
Broncos lead 14-3 with 3:28 left in the third. Darnold is just 14 of 25 passing. And this is against a Broncos defense that doesn't have Surtain and Hufanga.
Seattle's defense makes another stop, and Seattle is putting together another drive. JSN is coming alive this half with some nice catches. But with no running game, Seattle's offense has become one-dimensional.
Score remains 14-3 Broncos after Myers 47-yard attempt scrapes the right goal post. Brutal sequence for Seattle, who isn't able to cash in on Shaheed's 42-yard grab.
I know it's a skipping record, but Seattle's inability to run the ball is killing them. It's putting too much pressure on Darnold, who has faced a slew of third and obvious passing situations.
After a tough first half, Rashid Shaheed just pulled down a 42-yard combat catch that gives Seattle a first down just outside of the red zone.
JSN catches an underneath pass on third-and-11, breaks a tackle and gets a first down. Seattle needed that play to extend the drive after its defense came up with a big punt.
Great job by Seattle's defense overcoming adversity and forcing a Broncos punt after the initial first down. Honestly, that could end up being the turning point if Seattle is able to mount a comeback.
Can Seattle move the ball, though? They were starting to have success on the ground in the first half. So far, JSN has been invisible. Just two catches for 11 yards in the first half.
Nix rolls out on play action and hits Sutton for a first down on the first play of the second half. Broncos have the momentum.

RJ Harvey scores Denver's second TD from a yard out, giving the home team a 14-3 lead with 5:15 left in the third quarter.
The TD was set up by Devon Witherspoon's DPI. He had gotten away with two close calls, but the officials determined that he was too aggressive on that play.
Big night so far for Harvey. He's got a TD run and leads Denver with 31 receiving yards. Broncos are up to 51 yards on 15 carries. Not amazing, but efficient.
Excellent run by Dobbins gives the Broncos a first down past midfield. The Broncos were the first team to establish the run tonight, a huge advantage for Nix.
Dobbins has been excellent during his career, but injuries have held him back.
