Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston completed 26 of 43 passes for 287 yards with two touchdowns and four interceptions in Sunday's 37-23 loss to the Panthers. He also gained 12 yards on four rushes.
Winston wasted no time putting himself and the Bucs in a hole, throwing a Pick-Six on his first pass of the game for the second time in four weeks. It would mark the first of two occasions Sunday in which the rookie quarterback was victimized by standout corner Josh Norman, whose 34-yard return of the second interception helped set up a Carolina touchdown.
Winston admittedly dealt with some extenuating circumstances in the form of on-again, off-again torrential rainstorms throughout the game, but still displayed some faulty decision making that was independent of the weather conditions. He did round out his stat line in the latter stages of the game, honing in on Vincent Jackson almost as often as he did on Mike Evans in Week 3. Winston will try to generate a much less turnover-laden performance in a favorable matchup at home in Week 5 against the Jaguars.
