49ers' Mike Evans: Not slated to practice Wednesday
Head coach Kyle Shanahan said that Evans (Achilles) isn't expected to practice Wednesday, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.
Evans exited late in the first half of Monday's game against the Commanders and was quickly ruled out due to an Achilles injury that initially showed up during Week 6 prep. Shanahan told Wagoner afterward that Evans is dealing with right Achilles tendinitis, and while he doesn't believe it's a long-term concern, he also is hopeful the veteran wide receiver will be able to play Sunday in Atlanta. Evans already has proven he doesn't need much, if any, on-field work in a given week to be available on game day, but this particular occasion appears to be different.

49ers' Mike Evans: Nursing Achilles tendinitis, iffy for Week 8
Head coach Kyle Shanahan said after Monday's 23-17 win over the Commanders that Evans' early exit was due to right Achilles tendinitis, but he doesn't believe the wideout will require further testing or imaging, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports. "I hope he recovers throughout the week, but you don't think it's a long-term thing, but right now it ended up costing him two quarters and hopefully he'll be able to play [Sunday in Atlanta]," Shanahan said.
Listed as questionable heading into Monday after failing to practice all week while nursing the Achilles issue in addition to fractured ribs, Evans suited up but lasted just two quarters before aggravating the Achilles injury. He still delivered for fantasy managers with three receptions for 94 yards on five targets, but the veteran wideout's latest setback on the health front could put him in danger of missing his first game of the season. Before deciding on Evans' status for Sunday's game, the 49ers will likely continue to rest him during practices throughout the week and see how he bounces back from the Achilles tendinitis. With a bye on tap in Week 8, the 49ers may be incentivized to hold Evans out against the Falcons to ensure he's in optimal health for the second half of the season.

49ers' Mike Evans: Expected to miss some time
Evans is expected to miss some time after aggravating his Achilles injury in Monday night's 23-17 win over the Commanders, Jennifer Lee Chan of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Evans' Achilles is "in tact," according to Chan, but the Niners are expected to hold the wide receiver out through the team's Week 8 bye with an eye toward a return in Week 9 against the Raiders. San Francisco struggled mightily to move the ball in the second half with Evans out of the game, but perhaps Christian Kirk (calf) will be able to return next Sunday against the Falcons to give the position a boost.

Evans (Achilles) has been ruled out for the remainder of Monday night's game against the Commanders, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.
After previously being deemed questionable to return, Evans has now been officially ruled out for the remainder of the contest after he didn't even come out of the locker room with the team for the start of the third quarter. Prior to departing with the right Achilles injury, Evans caught three of five targets for 94 yards. At the end of a 16-yard grab in the second quarter, Evans sat on the ground and grabbed at his right Achilles, the one he's been battling soreness in for the past week and caused him to miss practice leading up to Monday night. Jordan Watkins and Brandin Cooks will be tasked with leading this injury-depleted San Francisco wideout room.

Evans (Achilles) is questionable to return to Monday night's game against the Commanders, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.
Evans limped to the locker room late in the second quarter and was grabbing at his right Achilles. He missed practice all week leading up to Monday night's game with Achilles soreness and a ribs injury, and it was apparent during the game that he wasn't close to 100 percent health. Evans headed to the locker room in the second quarter of Monday night's game against the Commanders with an apparent Achilles injury, Harrison Rich of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
With Evans already having entered Monday's game managing ribs and Achilles issues, his exit is notable considering he didn't look anywhere close to 100 percent with the ball in his hands Monday. Late in the second quarter, Evans made a tumbling 16-yard grab in the red zone and immediately grabbed at his ailing Achilles. He got up and gingerly walked straight to the locker room with the training staff.
