As expected, Saints linebacker Jonathan Vilma, suspended for a year for his role in the team’s bounty program, has appealed the suspension, confirms CBSSports.com's Mike Freeman.
There’s no word yet on whether current Packers defensive end Anthony Hargrove (eight games for what occurred in New Orleans), defensive end Will Smith (four games) and Browns linebacker Scott Fujita (three games), will also appeal, but it seems most likely that they will.
They have until the end of business on Monday to do so. Commissioner Roger Goodell, the man who doled out the punishment in the first place, will hear the appeal -- which predictably has raised the ire of the NFLPA.
UPDATE (12:10 p.m. ET): Hargrove, Smith and Fujita also have appealed their suspensions.
