The second week of the 2026 NFL preseason featured a whopping 10 games on Saturday. As you can imagine, the day was not devoid of big plays, notable performances and interesting storylines.
Saturday included a development in the quarterback battle in Cleveland between Shedeur Sanders and Deshaun Watson, who made headlines following his team's 31-7 loss to the Bills when he addressed Browns fans who had booed him during the game. And while Sanders' performance didn't come without some flaws, it's safe to say that he improved his positioning with one week to go in the preseason.
Other highlights from Saturday included a 69-yard field goal, Odell Beckham Jr. doing his part in helping John Harbaugh get his first win as Giants coach, a tough outing for Vikings quarterback J.J. McCarthy, impressive performances from young backup quarterbacks Stetson Bennett and Jack Strand, and the brief preseason debuts of Caleb Williams and Jayden Daniels.

Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker just drilled a 69-yard field goal, which would serve as the NFL record had it occurred in the regular season. Cam Little's 68-yard FG last year is still the longest in NFL history.
As you can see, Butker had plenty of leg on his kick, which probably would have been good from 75 yards.
Dallas' dominant performance has included some big plays on defense, too. For example, rookie third-round pick LT Overton just collected his first NFL sack with the Cardinals' offense in the red zone.
Second-year running back Jaydon Blue leaps over a Cardinal during yet another nifty play for the Cowboys' offense. Blue, a former fifth-round pick out of Texas, didn't make much impact as a rookie, and he's looking to carve out a bigger role on the Cowboys' offense in 2026.
Milton just made yet another big play, this time a 69-yard completion to Camden Brown. He's only attempted nine passes, but he's completed six of them for 165 yards and three total touchdowns. Cowboys have a commanding 21-3 lead.
Mike Vrabel gave an honest and surprising response when asked why Drake Maye and other starters didn't play Saturday night. Vrabel said something you seldom hear from a coach, let alone one just won a conference title.
He doesn't think his team is very deep.
Moments after the Cowboys' electric score, Simi Fehoko made a very impressive catch that saw him make a complete turn on the sideline. Some really nice plays in this late preseason game.
Milton throws an absolute dime to Jonathan Mingo that gave the Cowboys an early 7-0 lead. Mingo beat his defender and Milton threw him the perfect pass.
Zac Taylor has been the Bengals' play calling since he became coach in 2019. And while Cincinnati has had success over that span, a large percentage of the fan base would like to see someone else call the plays.
The Bengals offense looked stellar tonight. I doubt Taylor will relinquish play calling duties, but this is notable nonetheless. And it could potentially lead to a change at some point down the road.
Quintayvious Hutchinson seals the win for the Patriots after forcing a strip sack of Cole Payton. The fumble was scooped up by DT Casey Rogers.
While it's largely been a forgettable night for the Bears, defensive back Sylar Thomas made an excellent play when he cut the route and came up with an interception. An undrafted rookie, Thomas is fighting to make the Bears' initial 53-man roster.
Sean Clifford has picked up where Josh Johnson left off. Clifford is 9 of 12 for 127 yards and a TD in less than 16 minutes of work. Bengals are firing on all cylinders. That included the defense (Chicago is 1 of 10 on third down) and kicker Even McPherson, who just drilled a 58-yard FG and hasn't missed a kick this preseason.
There's been a lot of hype surrounding the Bengals, and while it is the preseason, they are looking the part.
Josh Johnson is showing that age is just a number tonight. The 40-year-old had a stellar first half against the Bears. He just threw his second TD pass of the half and is 15 of 23 for 156 yards.
Tommy DeVito's big night continues with a 69-yard completion to Kyle Williams. DeVito now up to 151 passing yards in addition to 44 yards on three carries.
Fourth-round pick Colbie Young hauls in his first career TD while giving the Bengals a 10-6 lead.
Here's what Bengals GM Steven Radicevic said shortly after drafting Young: "He has all the physical traits — height, weight, speed. He's a big possession receiver. He's really good in contested situations. One of the things that stuck out the most is his toughness and his willingness to block in the run game. He is tough after the catch. In terms of ability, he definitely was up there for us."
After committing a false start, Jahdae Walker -- an undrafted rookie last year -- made a really nice catch on a throw from Case Keenum. Walker pulled down a catch moments earlier but out of bounds.
Former Giants QB Tommy DeVito displays his athleticism on a 36-yard run against the Patriots. DeVito has 86 total yards less than five minutes into the second quarter.
Fresh off his breakout sophomore season, Caleb Williams started his 2026 season with an 18-yard completion to fellow former first-round pick Rome Odunze. Williams completed just one of his following four attempts on the drive, but the Bears were still able to take an early 3-0 lead.
Williams' night is over. Case Keenum takes over for Chicago's second possession.
Eagles running back Eagles running back Ja'Quinden Jackson is leaving the field on a stretcher and into an ambulance after receiving extensive medical treatment from both teams' medical staffs.

John Harbaugh gets his first win as Giants coach as New York leaves Miami with a 26-3 win. The Giants got a spirited effort from their defense that held Miami to just 102 total yards. Tyrone Tracy had another rough game, though, committing a fumble after exposing Jaxson Dart to a big hit last week after missing a block.
Alex Cook, take a bow! (And how about Brenda Song on the call?!)
Odell Beckham Jr. is doing what he can to make the Giants' 53-man roster. The three-time Pro Bowler just made a nifty catch and run late in the first half in Miami.
Jack Strand had himself a day. Against the Colts, Strand went 12 of 17 for 212 yards and a score in leading the Falcons to a 34-6 win. He also had a TD on the ground.
Strand isn't in the running to be the Falcons' QB1, but if nothing else, his performance on Saturday should instill confidence in Kevin Stefanski that he is more than capable of filling in for either Michael Penix Jr. or Tua Tagovailoa if need be,
Stetson Bennett beat the Saints' defense for his second rushing TD of the day late in the first half. Bennett has been stellar through the air as well. So far, he's 19 of 21 for 181 yards with no picks.
Shedeur Sanders threw one touchdown pass and one interception in a mostly solid showing, Deshaun Watson struggled mightily and threw an interception, and the Bills dominated the Browns 31-7.
Kyle Allen and Shane Buechele both threw touchdown passes, with Buechele's going 71 yards to Ja'Mori Maclin, the nephew of former NFL standout Jeremy Maclin. Buechele and Ray Davis also ran for scores.
The Browns' quarterback decision could be coming any day.
After a dismal preseason Week 1, the Falcons romped past the Colts. Tyler Goodson, Nathan Carter and Jack Strand all ran for touchdowns, and Cash Jones caught a touchdown pass from Strand.
Anthony Richardson went 3 for 9 for 24 yards and took two sacks in the second half. Not great.
This is a bad decision that required a perfect throw. And while Watson actually delivered an almost perfect throw, when it easn't perfect, it was doomed.
Both of the Browns' top quarterbacks have been picked off today.
Rough day for the Minnesota offense, which was led by J.J. McCarthy for one quarter, Carson Wentz for one quarter and Max Brosmer for two quarters. The Ravens racked up five sacks, Silas Walters picked off Brosmer, and Amani Oruwariye recovered a fumble.
Joe Fagnano completed 15 of 20 passes with a touchdown to LaJohntay Wester. Fagnano has impressed this preseason.
According to Todd Monken's plan leading into the game, Deshaun Watson will take over in the third quarter. That means Sanders finishes ...
There were some nice moments, though the interception puts a damper on the performance.
Shedeur Sanders connected on his first eight passes before throwing slightly behind Jermaine Terry II and getting picked off on the deflection by Damar Hamlin.
This is a catch you'd like to see Terry make, but it's also a throw Sanders needs to make more accurately.
Sanders had been really good on the drive, converting a third and 15 with a 23-yard strike to Luke Floriea.
