Browns offensive coordinator Norv Turner called the opportunity for new starting quarterback Brian Hoyer to keep his job long-term premature, per the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Turner added on Thursday that the game Sunday in Minnesota would simply provide Hoyer with a chance to compete against "a great defense on the road."
It remains to be seen if Hoyer will keep his job upon the eventual return of Brandon Weeden from a thumb injury, but the coaches have reportedly become disenchanted with the latter.
