The Chiefs have released wide receiver Donnie Avery on Tuesday, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Avery signed with the Chiefs in 2013 after posting career highs in catches (60) and receiving yards (781) with the Colts in 2012. He appeared in all 16 games in his first season with Kansas City, turning 72 targets into 40 catches for 596 yards and two scores. Last season, he was limited to only 15 catches for 176 yards in six games.
