    Smith received a tryout with the Saints on Monday, Aaron Wilson of Sportstalk 790 Houston reports.

    Smith started the 2021 campaign with the Ravens after opting out of the 2020 season. He mostly appeared on special teams when he was active on game day. Smith was eventually released on Nov. 2 after ending up on the practice squad injured list with an undisclosed injury. The 34-year-old veteran is likely nearing the end of the career, but he will hope to prove he still has enough gas left in the tank to help another club, if not the Saints.
