  • Titans' John Simon: Signed by Tennessee

Simon was signed to the Titans' active roster Tuesday, Jim Wyatt of the team's official site reports.

The 31-year-old was cut by the Titans on Nov. 6 but will now return to the team. In one game for the team this season, he made three tackles while playing 19 snaps on defense. With David Long (hamstring) and Rashaan Evans (ankle) both questionable for Week 12 against the Patriots, Simon may be asked to step right into a substantial role this weekend.

  • John Simon: Back with Titans

Simon was signed to Tennessee's practice squad Tuesday, Jim Wyatt of the team's official site reports.

Simon was cut by the Titans in late August after going through camp with the team, and he'll rejoin the club via the practice squad. The 30-year-old spent the past few years with New England and totaled 53 tackles (34 solo) and two sacks in 16 games last year.

  • John Simon: Released by Tennessee

The Titans released Simon on Sunday.

Simon appeared in 43 games over the past three years with New England. The 30-year-old has recorded at least two sacks in every season since 2015 and will likely draw plenty of interest from teams looking for veteran depth along their defensive line.

  • Titans' John Simon: Reaches deal with Tennessee

Simon signed a contract with the Titans on Sunday, NFL reporter Aaron Wilson reports.

Simon spent the past three years in New England and totaled eight sacks in 43 games. The 30-year-old provides veteran depth as an edge rusher and should fill a rotational role for the Titans.

  • Patriots' John Simon: Good to go Monday

Simon (hamstring) is active for Monday's game against the Bills.

The 30-year-old suffered the injury during last week's loss to the Dolphins but won't miss any additional time. Simon has 49 tackles (32 solo) two sacks and three passes defensed through 14 games this season.

  • Patriots' John Simon: Sustains hamstring injury

Simon (hamstring) is questionable to return to Sunday's game against Miami.

The 30-year-old has not established himself as a dominant edge presence by any means, posting four QB hits and two sacks thus far in 2020. What Simon has provided is consistent availability, as he's started 25 times for New England without posting a game absence since the start of 2019. Former Raider Shilique Calhoun is the presumed next man up at outside linebacker for as long as Simon is unable to return.
