Will Sutton: Cut by 49ers
Sutton was let go by the 49ers on Friday, the team's official site reports.
Sutton spent three seasons in Chicago after being selected in the third round of the 2014 draft, but couldn't make the Vikings' 53-man roster prior to the 2017 season. He was cut heading into Week 1 of the regular season for a second straight season.

49ers' Will Sutton: Heading to San Francisco
Sutton signed a contract Wednesday with the 49ers.
A former third-round selection in 2014, Sutton spent his first three seasons with the Bears, recording 82 tackles and seven pass breakups. After his release last May, he joined the Vikings but failed to make the 53-man roster and was cut after the preseason. He'll vie for a depth role with San Francisco if he cracks the final roster.

Vikings' Will Sutton: Signs contract with Minnesota
Sutton (ankle) signed a contract with the Vikings on Wednesday.
After being waived by the Bears a week ago, Sutton didn't take long to find a new home in the NFC North. A former collegiate standout at Arizona State, Sutton struggled to make an impact as a 3-4 defensive end during his three seasons with the Bears, compiling 60 tackles and no sacks in 36 career games (18 starts). Defensive tackle Toby Johnson was waived to create roster room for Sutton, who could have better luck fitting in as a tackle in a 4-3 scheme. He's expected to vie for a reserve role along the line in training camp.

Will Sutton: Released by the Bears
Sutton (ankle) was released by the Bears on Thursday.
Sutton was selected by the Bears in the third round of the 2014 draft but he hasn't amounted to much more than a backup. He ended last season on injured reserve due to an ankle injury, but it isn't anticipated that the injury will force him to miss the start of the 2017 season.
