Theo Riddick: Chooses retirement
Riddick is retiring, Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.com reports.
Placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list for the start of training camp, Riddick now will retire from football. The two things may be unrelated, as he was far from a sure thing to make the Week 1 roster in Las Vegas, where Josh Jacobs, Kenyan Drake and Jalen Richard should have the backfield in good shape.

Raiders' Theo Riddick: Placed on reserve/COVID-19 list
The Raiders placed Riddick on the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday.
Riddick played sparingly for the Raiders last season, carrying the ball six times for 14 yards and catching five passes for 43 yards across four games. The 30-year-old running back is buried on the depth chart, so any missed time will hurt his chances for one of the final roster spots.

Raiders' Theo Riddick: Sticking around
The Raiders are re-signing Riddick to a one-year contract, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
Riddick was a healthy scratch scratch for the Raiders most of last season, and he only averaged 12 offensive snaps in the four appearances he did log. With Kenyan Drake now available to fill in as the top backup to Josh Jacobs, Riddick doesn't have a clear path to increased work next season either. With just $50,000 guaranteed on his deal, it's no sure thing that he makes Las Vegas' final roster.

Raiders' Theo Riddick: Four receptions in season finale
Riddick, who caught four passes (on five targets) for 40 yards in Week 17, wraps up his 2020 campaign with six carries for 14 yards to go along with five catches for 43 yards on six targets in four games.
Riddick spent time on the Raiders' practice squad, the reserve/COVID-19 list and as a healthy scratch throughout the 2020 season, ultimately logging just 48 total offensive snaps. Riddick, who's slated to turn 30 years old in May, becomes an unrestricted free agent this offseason.

Raiders' Theo Riddick: Inactive Week 14
Riddick (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against Indianapolis.
The 29-year-old played 13 offensive snaps and had three carries for six yards and one reception for three yards last week against the Jets with starter Josh Jacobs (ankle) sidelined, but Jacobs is active for Sunday's contest. Riddick is clearly at the bottom of the backfield depth chart, with Devontae Booker and Jalen Richard operating as the secondary and tertiary options.

Raiders' Theo Riddick: Adds nine total yards Sunday
Riddick took three carries for six yards and caught his only target for three yards in Sunday's 31-28 win over the Jets.
Riddick's return from the COVID-19 list was met with additional opportunities out of the backfield as Josh Jacobs (ankle) missed Sunday's contest, but the Raiders struggled on the ground to the tune of 25 carries for just 72 yards. Jacobs' Week 14 availability doesn't look promising, so Riddick figures to remain active as a change-of-pace option behind Devontae Booker and Jalen Richard.

Raiders' Theo Riddick: Rare chance for work?
Riddick has a chance for snaps and touches Sunday against the Jets with Josh Jacobs (ankle) sidelined, Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.com reports.
Riddick has made only one appearance this season and recently had a spell on the reserve/COVID-19 list. However, the Raiders are without their lead running back, giving the rest of the group added opportunity. Devontae Booker is expected to lead the backfield, while Jalen Richard is the best bet to take on pass-catching work, but Riddick will be around for potential reps if he is active.

Raiders' Theo Riddick: Activated by Raiders
The Raiders activated Riddick from the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday, Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.com reports.
Riddick had resided on the list since Nov. 21, as he was forced to miss last week's game against the Falcons. Even though Riddick was cleared from COVID-19 protocols, he's only suited up in one game this season, so he won't make an impact in the offense as the team's fourth option at running back.

Raiders' Theo Riddick: Shifts to COVID list
Riddick (undisclosed) was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Saturday, Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.com reports.
The move means Riddick either tested positive for the virus or was in close contact with an infected individual. The 29-year-old will be unavailable until he clears the league's COVID-19 protocols.

Raiders' Theo Riddick: Won't play against Broncos
Riddick (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Broncos.
Riddick didn't play last week due to an illness, but he's simply a healthy scratch this time around. Jalen Richard and Devontae Booker will continue to rotate in behind Josh Jacobs.

Raiders' Theo Riddick: Off injury report
Riddick (illness) was absent from Wednesday's injury report.
Riddick was forced to miss last week's game against the Chargers with the ailment but looks to have returned to full strength. Now healthy, Riddick will slot back to his depth running back role for Sunday's game against the Broncos.
