Chargers' Khalil Mack: Sticking with Chargers
Mack and the Chargers agreed to a one-year contract Saturday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
After the Chargers' loss to the Patriots in the wild-card round in January, Mack relayed to Omar Navarro of the team's official site that he planned to contemplate whether or not to continue playing. On Monday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported Mack intended to do so, and the pass rusher now has a new one-year deal in place. Since racking up 17.0 sacks in 2023, Mack has accrued 11.5 sacks in 28 regular-season games over the past two years, indicating the 35-year-old still has something left in the tank as he embarks in his 13th NFL campaign.

Chargers' Khalil Mack: Will play in 2026
Mack has indicated that he will play in the 2026 season, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Mack had been considering retirement following his 2025 campaign with the Chargers, which ended in a 16-3 loss to the Patriots in the AFC wild-card round. He put up respectable numbers during the regular season -- 32 total tackles, including 5.5 sacks, and four forced fumbles across 12 games -- but it wasn't to the level of production he had in 2023, when he posted a career-high 17.0 sacks across 17 regular-season games. Even though his sack totals have dropped in the last two years, Mack should garner plenty of interest from teams looking to upgrade their defensive front this offseason.

Chargers' Khalil Mack: Contemplating playing future
Mack said after Sunday's 16-3 wild-card loss to the Patriots that he will make a decision on his future in the NFL " based on how I'm feeling and how my family is feeling, the vibes," Omar Navarro of the Chargers' official site reports.
Mack recorded one assisted tackle versus New England, while across 12 regular-season appearances in 2025 he totaled 32 tackles (19 solo), including 5.5 sacks, plus four forced fumbles. The 34-year-old veteran is slated to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason after having played out the 2025 campaign via a one-year, $18 million contract with Los Angeles. If Mack decides to continue his playing career for another season, he and the Chargers could have mutual agreement on a similar deal for 2026.
