Josh Evans: Announces retirement
Evans announced his retirement Monday, Adam H. Beasley of the Miami Herald reports.
In three years with the Jaguars from 2013-15, Evans played in at least 15 games and registered 50-plus tackles in all three seasons. His best campaign came in 2014, when he tallied 90 tackles (62 solos), two passes defended and two fumbles recovered. However, since 2015, the Florida product has only seen action in two NFL games and has ultimately decided to call it quits on his pro career.

Josh Evans: Released by Redskins
Evans was released by the Redskins on Thursday, Stephen Czarda of the Redskins' official site reports.
Evans and fellow safety Earl Wolff were sent packing Thursday as the team decided to bring in two new safeties for training camp, Stefan McClure and Tim Scott. Evans only played in two games for the Redskins last season, fulfilling more of a depth role in the secondary. Only 26, the safety could catch on elsewhere in time for the beginning of the regular season.

Redskins' Josh Evans: Signed by Redskins
Evans was signed to the Redskins active roster Wednesday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
Evans played with the Redskins early in the season and was re-signed as a result of veteran safety Donte Whitner being moved to injured reserve. Look for Evans to serve as a depth safety who could help out on special teams as well.

Redskins' Josh Evans: Inactive Week 7
Evans (coach's decision) is inactive Sunday against the Lions.
Evans, a depth option at safety, signed on with the Redskins three weeks ago and played in each of the team's last two games. However, with no injury reported, he appears to be a healthy scratch.

Redskins' Josh Evans: Signs with Redskins
Evans signed a contract with the Redskins on Wednesday, Mike Jones of the Washington Post reports.
Evans' signing comes on the heels of the Redskins placing David Bruton (concussion) on IR and signing Donte Whitner. Facing a slew of injuries to their secondary, the team needed to add depth, which is exactly what Evans and Whitner are. Likely the fourth or fifth option at safety, Evans may not see much time unless more injuries force the team to play him.

Josh Evans: Released by Jags
Evans was released by Jacksonville on Friday, Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post reports.
Evans hasn't managed to stick on anywhere for long in his NFL career and his release doesn't come as much of a surprise.
