  • Braxton Miller: Receives injury settlement

Miller (ankle) was released off the Panthers' practice squad injury list with an injury settlement Saturday, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Miller joined Carolina's practice squad ahead of Week 8 but suffered the ankle injury during his brief stint with the team and moved to the injured list. The 26-year-old hasn't seen game action since 2017 with the Texans.

  • Braxton Miller: Put on injured list

Miller was placed on the Panthers' practice squad injury list on Monday, Max Henson of the Panthers' official site reports.

Miller was added to the practice unit prior to Week 8 but apparently suffered an ankle injury at some point over the last week. The severity of the issue is unknown at this time.

  • Braxton Miller: Joins Panthers' practice squad

  • Braxton Miller: Chopped by Browns

Miller was released by the Browns on Saturday.

Miller was fighting for a depth role after joining the Browns three weeks into August but was unable to make the 53-man roster. Having already been waived by the Eagles earlier in training camp, the receiver will try to find another opportunity to join an NFL roster.

  • Browns' Braxton Miller: Helps himself Thursday

Miller caught three of six targets for 19 yards in Thursday's preseason finale against the Lions.

Nothing should be read into the fact that Miller received significant playing time in the final preseason game, traditionally a meaningless affair played mostly by guys that will end up released Saturday. Head coach Freddie Kitchens was eager to see Miller after the former Ohio State Buckeye was added to the roster last week. Antonio Callaway (suspension) will miss the first four games, so there is a spot available for Miller, who had one nice diving grab for 13 yards that dug the Browns out of a hole at their own 2-yard-line. His main challenger, Ishmael Hyman, had a bad first-quarter stretch with a couple of drops and couldn't corral a contested third-down pass.

  • Browns' Braxton Miller: Lands in Cleveland

Miller signed a contract with the Browns on Wednesday, James Palmer of NFL Network reports.

Miller was waived by the Eagles on Saturday and will now work to catch on as a depth asset and special-teams contributor in Cleveland. The 2016 third-round pick racked up 34 catches for 261 yards with the Texans in 2016 and 2017, but has not seen work in a regular-season game since.

  • Braxton Miller: Waived by Philly

The Eagles waived Miller on Saturday.

Miller spent his 2018 campaign as a member of the Eagles' practice squad, but he's once again headed for the waiver wire as, the Eagles needed to clear a roster spot for incoming veteran quarterback Josh McCown.

  • Eagles' Braxton Miller: Gets nod from Doug Pederson

Miller was the first player coach Doug Pederson mentioned when he was asked Tuesday about the team's depth at wide receiver, Zack Rosenblatt of The Newark Star-Ledger reports.

It's a bit early to reach any conclusions, but it isn't crazy to think Miller could enter a competition with Shelton Gibson and Mack Hollins for the No. 4 job at wide receiver. The 2016 third-rounder had just 261 receiving yards on 805 offensive snaps in two seasons with Houston and then spent most of 2018 on the Philadelphia practice squad.

  • Eagles' Braxton Miller: Signs with Eagles

Miller signed a reserve/future contract with the Eagles on Monday.

Miller signed with the Eagles' practice squad back in early September, and the team appears as though it wants to give him a shot at the 53-man roster throughout the offseason and training camp. The receiver last played for the Texans in 2017, hauling in 19 passes for 162 yards and one touchdown over 11 games.

  • Braxton Miller: Joins Eagles' practice squad

The Eagles signed Miller to their practice squad Saturday, Zach Rosenblatt of NJ.com reports.

Miller, a 2016 third-round pick, transitioned from star quarterback at Ohio State to wide receiver in the NFL. He was released by the Texans during final cuts last week. Although he has not produced much at the NFL level, he will now get a chance to earn a role with the Eagles.

  • Braxton Miller: Waived by Texans

Miller was waived by the Texans on Friday, John McClain of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Miller simply never panned out after the Texans used a 2016 third-round pick to gamble on the former Ohio State quarterback, with the intention of converting him to a receiver. Entering the 2018 campaign, the hope was that Miller would separate himself as a quality slot receiver, but Bruce Ellington was much more impressive in that capacity this preseason. While his time is now over in Houston, Miller still boasts elite athleticism and stands to have decent odds of being claimed off waivers by another team.

  • Braxton Miller: Could return to Houston

Texans head coach Bill O'Brien said the team is "working through some things" in response to a question about Miller being released.

O'Brien addressed several topics after a slew of roster cuts came down Friday and made it sound like Miller could be back in the fold. "I don't know what's being instagrammed out there, tweeted out there, whatever - I'm not sure how that all works. But, we're still working through some things, Braxton's an improved player, no doubt about it and we'll see what happens." We were surprised that Houston let Miller go, as he's performed well in preseason games.

  • Texans' Braxton Miller: Starts in place of injured Fuller

Miller started at wide receiver in place of the injured Will Fuller (hamstring) in Saturday's preseason loss to the Rams.

Fuller came up lame late in the practice week and was scratched from the game. Miller was targeted a team-high five times, catching three for 26 yards, including a seven-yard touchdown. He was particularly impressive on the touchdown catch, grabbing a 50-50 ball in a crowd. "That was a nice play," coach Bill O'Brien told Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle. "I think the guy on the outside might have run the wrong route and they both ended up in the same spot. Usually, we don't design routes where guys run to the same spot and jump in the air. But Braxton came down with it and it was a really nice play." Miller is mostly competing with Bruce Ellington for work in the slot, but the third-year pro was given some opportunities outside the numbers Saturday. He leads the team with nine catches and 94 yards during the preseason.

  • Texans' Braxton Miller: Finds end zone in preseason loss

Miller secured three of five targets for 26 yards and a touchdown in the Texans' 21-20 preseason loss to the Rams on Saturday.

Miller hauled in a seven-yard touchdown pass from Brandon Weeden just before halftime, adding to his successful preseason. The 25-year-old has totaled nine catches for 94 yards and Saturday's score over three exhibitions as he battles for a roster spot on the latter half of the receiver depth chart. The 2016 third-round pick appears to be trending in the right direction in that regard, although another productive effort in next Thursday's preseason finale versus the Cowboys certainly wouldn't hurt.

  • Texans' Braxton Miller: Has game-high eight targets

Miller caught three passes for 40 yards in Saturday's preseason win over the 49ers.

Miller's had an encouraging preseason, both in training camp and the first preseason game, but the view on him is less sanguine following Saturday's effort. He led the team with eight targets, but caught less than half and had a drop early. Bruce Ellington, on the other hand, made a strong case for the No. 3 receiver job, catching four passes for 50 yards and a touchdown (all on the opening drive).
