Elliot underwent ankle surgery Thursday morning, Lindsey Wisniewski of USA Today reports.
Elliot was placed on injured reserve ahead of the team's season opener against the Packers and will be out for the entire regular season. He will now begin the rehab process in an effort to be ready for next season.

Elliott had his right leg enclosed in an air cast before being carted off. The Seahawks probably won't have an update on the extent of Elliott's injury for another day or two, but it looked serious enough to put his chances of winning a roster spot in jeopardy.
