James worked out for the 49ers, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.
James seems to have recovered from the meniscus tear he suffered in 2017. He has not played a snap in the NFL since that time.

Cory James: Waived by Raiders
James (knee) was waived by the Raiders on Friday due to a failed physical, Michael Gehlken of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.
James ended the 2017 season on injured reserve due to a torn meniscus and apparently isn't back to 100 percent, resulting in his failed physical. He'll be free to sign with any team for the 2018 season if he clears waivers.

Raiders' Cory James: Hits injured reserve
The Raiders placed James (knee) was on injured reserve Wednesday, Vic Tafur of The Athletic Bay Area reports.
James missed the last two games with a torn meniscus and had deferred arthroscopic knee surgery in hopes of playing through the injury, but will now require the procedure after failing to demonstrate much progress, according to Michael Gehlken of the Las Vegas Review-Journal. James' shutdown likely paves the way for Nicholas Morrow, who has racked up 16 tackles over the past two weeks, to continue seeing the bulk of the snaps at weakside linebacker.

Raiders' Cory James: Will watch from sidelines Sunday
James (knee) is listed as inactive for Sunday's game against the Chiefs.
The Raiders have given up 400 yards of total offense only three times this season, and two of those times James was inactive. The second-year pro is a stud when he's on the field, accruing 56 tackles (42 solo) through 10 games, and he left early in three of those contests. Nicholas Morrow is likely to take over at weak-side linebacker.

Raiders' Cory James: Doubtful for Sunday
James (knee) is considered doubtful for Sunday's game against the Chiefs.
James, who missed last week's win over the Giants, was unable to practice at all throughout the week due to his knee injury. Nicholas Morrow would likely be in line to start in James' place at outside linebacker in Week 14 after logging a season-high nine tackles against the Giants during James' absence.

Raiders' Cory James: Won't play Sunday
James (knee) is listed an inactive for Sunday's game against the Giants.
James was never more than a limited participant in practice this week and will sit out for the first time since Week 7. Nicholas Morrow is a likely replacement at weak-side linebacker for the Raiders on Sunday.

Raiders' Cory James: Questionable Sunday
The Raiders have listed James (knee) as questionable for Sunday's game against the Giants.
James was unable to practice Wednesday, but he was able to put in limited work the rest of the week. His status Sunday will likely be determined by how he's feeling after going through pregame warmups. Nicholas Morrow would presumably be in line to fill in at weak-side linebacker should the 24-year-old ultimately sit out.

Raiders' Cory James: Gearing up Sunday
James (knee) is active for Sunday's game against the Patriots.
The second-year pro has been nursing this injury since Oct. 11, but it has only kept him out of one game. James has 45 tackles (33 solo) and a forced fumble through eight games this season, yet his inconsistencies -- he has four game with four or less tackles -- make him difficult to deploy in most fantasy formats.

The 24-year-old has been dealing with the injury since Week 5 and missed most of the next two games as a result. He was able to return for Week 8 against the Bills and turned in limited practices on Thursday and Friday this week. He should be good to go in this one.

Raiders' Cory James: Active for Sunday's game
James (knee) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Chargers.

Raiders' Cory James: Leads Raiders in tackles once again
James notched 10 solo tackles to lead the team for the second straight week in Sunday's loss to the Broncos.
Two of James' 10 tackles went for losses. Although he has been very active on the field, the 24-year-old has yet to record a sack or turnover this season, but that is just seemingly a matter of time. He played all 64 snaps in the contest and figures to continue being a workhorse for the defense going forward.
