Spencer Paysinger: Waived by Panthers
The Panthers waived Paysinger on Friday per the NFL's official transaction log.
Paysinger was waived in order to activate returning defensive end Charles Johnson. The veteran linebacker joined the Panthers' active roster prior to Week 14. He will presumably revert to their practice squad assuming he clears waivers.

Panthers' Spencer Paysinger: Joins Carolina
Paysinger signed a contract with the Panthers on Tuesday, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM Radio reports.
The 29-year-old linebacker has finally found a home after being cut by the Jets prior to the beginning of the regular season. In 15 games with the Dolphins in 2016, Paysinger recorded 59 tackles (42 solo) and three passes defensed. Look for him to serve in a more limited role for the Panthers' defense.

Paysinger was released by the Jets on Friday, Darryl Slater of The Star-Ledger reports.
The veteran linebacker has a track record of decent play in the NFL, so it wouldn't be surprising to see his name land on another roster. However, he's on the free-agent market for the time being.

Jets' Spencer Paysinger: Signs with Jets
Paysinger signed with the Jets on Friday.
Paysinger spent his first four seasons in New York with the Giants before playing for the Dolphins the past two years. The 28-year-old is coming off the second-best season of his career, as he totaled 59 tackles and a fumble recovery in 2016. His signing will help bolster the Jets' depth at linebacker after the release of David Harris earlier this week.
