Carter (knee) was cut by Buffalo on Saturday, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.
Carter had been nursing a knee injury and was a longshot roster candidate to begin with, especially once rookies Dawson Knox and Tommy Sweeney displayed they were better pass-catching options than any other healthy tight ends on the pre-cut roster.

Bills' Kyle Carter: Joins Buffalo
Carter signed a contract with the Bills on Monday.
Carter is the now the eighth tight end on Buffalo's roster and will have a tall task to withstand roster cutdowns. The 26-year-old played in three games during his rookie campaign with the Vikings in 2017 but did not see game action last season.

Seahawks' Kyle Carter: Claimed by Seattle
Carter was claimed off of waivers by the Seahawks on Thursday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
Carter was one of a few tight ends who were added to the Seahawks roster Thursday while top option Ed Dickson (groin) is sidelined. Look for Carter to compete for a backup tight end and special teams role in Seattle.

Carter was claimed off waivers this spring after appearing in three games with Minnesota in 2017. Should he pass through waivers unclaimed this time around, Carter would immediately become an unrestricted free agent.

Carter was claimed off waivers by the Giants on Tuesday, Field Yates of ESPN.com reports.
Carter will reunite with former Vikings offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur, who was named the Giants new head coach Tuesday. Carter only played in three games for the Vikings during the regular season and failed to record a statistic in the process. He'll now join a tight end room led by Evan Engram and Rhett Ellison.

The Vikings waived Carter on Saturday, Courtney Cronin of ESPN.com reports.
Carter was cut to make room for quarterback Sam Bradford (knee), who was activated off injured reserve in advance of Sunday's postseason opener against the Saints. The tight end appeared in three contests for Minnesota during the regular season but wasn't targeted across 28 offensive snaps.

Vikings' Kyle Carter: Promoted to Minnesota's roster
The Vikings promoted Carter to the 53-man roster Friday, Craig Peters of the Vikings' official site reports.
Carter is expected to dress as the No. 2 tight end behind David Morgan for Sunday's game against the Bengals with Kyle Rudolph (ankle) doubtful for the contest and Blake Bell (shoulder) landing on injured reserve. The Penn State product totaled 84 receptions for 963 yards and four touchdowns during his four-year college career, but has yet to make his NFL debut since turning pro in 2016. Don't expect him to see much involvement in the passing game in Week 15.

Carter caught a 16-yard touchdown for his only reception in Sunday's preseason win over the 49ers.
