Rannell Hall: Cut from Cleveland's practice squad
The Browns released Hall from their practice squad Tuesday, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Hall's dismissal clears a spot on the practice team for free safety Justin Currie, who is a candidate to receive a promotion to the 53-man roster if fellow safety Jabrill Peppers (knee) is unable to play Sunday against the Packers. The wideout, who previously played in one game with Cleveland in 2015, hasn't seen NFL action in either of the past two seasons.

Rannell Hall: Earns practice-squad spot with Cleveland
The Browns signed Hall to their practice squad Wednesday, Pat McManamon of ESPN.com reports.
Hall spent time with the Browns in the preseason, collecting seven catches for 103 yards and a touchdown before all was said and done. He could be promoted to the active roster sooner than later if the Browns continue to receive underwhelming play from their current crop of receivers.

Hall caught two passes on three targets for 25 yards in Monday's preseason victory versus the Giants.
Hall now has four receptions for 59 yards in limited action during the first two preseason games and is making a strong case for a roster spot on a team that needs solid wide receiver depth. Hall missed the entirety of the 2016 season with a fractured fibula and has yet to catch a pass in the NFL.
