  • Trevor Davis: Released by Falcons

Davis was released by the Falcons on Tuesday, Scott Bair of the team's official site reports.

Davis' offensive skills aren't as intriguing as his kick- and punt-return abilities. The 28-year-old hasn't played since the 2019 season when he logged 506 yards on 23 kick returns.

  • Falcons' Trevor Davis: Signs with Falcons

Davis was signed by the Falcons on Thursday.

Atlanta placed TE Jaeden Graham on the reserve/injured list in a corresponding move. Davis will look to get up to speed before the Aug. 13 preseason opener against the Titans. He has 16 catches for 205 yards and a touchdown in his NFL career.

  • Trevor Davis: Done in Washington

Washington released Davis on Monday, Ben Standig of The Athletic reports.

Davis spent time on Washington's practice squad last season, but he didn't ultimately suit up for a game with the team. Back in 2019, Davis appeared in contests for the Packers, Dolphins and Raiders.

  • Football Team's Trevor Davis: Lands future contract

Washington signed Davis to a reserve/future contract Monday.

After spending the last few months on Washington's practice squad, Davis has earned a spot on the roster. The 27-year-old has garnered extensive experience as a returner over his four NFL seasons with the Packers, Dolphins and Raiders, amassing 593 yards on punt returns and another 1,297 while running back kickoffs.

  • Trevor Davis: Joins Washington's practice squad

Davis signed to Washington's practice squad Wednesday.

The 27-year-old spent training camp in Chicago and had a workout in Houston before finally latching on with Washington. Davis appeared in 14 games between the Packers, Raiders and Dolphins last season, and his primary duties figure to be in the return game if he makes his way to Washington's active roster.

  • Trevor Davis: Works out for Houston

The Texans brought Davis in for a workout, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Davis was a 2016 fifth-round draft pick of the Packers and has played for Green Bay, Miami and Oakland. He was most recently with the Bears in training camp. Davis has extensive experience as a returner, which is likely why the Texans brought him in. Houston's primary returner, DeAndre Carter, had a costly fumble during last week's loss to the Vikings.

  • Trevor Davis: Shown door in Chicago

The Bears waived Davis on Tuesday, Larry Mayer of the team's official site reports.

Davis bounced around among the Packers, Dolphins and Raiders last season, contributing more as a returner/jet-sweep specialist than a wide receiver. The 2016 fifth-round pick has blazing speed -- he ran a 4.42 40-yard dash -- so he'll seek out a returner role elsewhere.

  • Bears' Trevor Davis: Latches on with Bears

Davis signed a one-year contract with the Bears on Wednesday.

Davis appeared in 14 games between the Raiders, Dolphins and Packers last season, catching eight passes for 111 yards. The 26-year-old has only 16 catches over his four-year career, and his likeliest path to a roster spot in Chicago will come as a return man.

  • Dolphins' Trevor Davis: No offensive snaps in finale

Davis did not record an offensive snap during Week 17's win over the Patriots.

Davis wasn't targeted during his three-game stint with Miami in 2019, though he did contribute as a kick and punt returner. The return specialist is an unrestricted free agent this offseason.

  • Dolphins' Trevor Davis: Won't play Sunday

Davis (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Jets, Adam H. Beasley of the Miami Herald reports.

The Dolphins claimed Davis off waivers from Oakland on Tuesday, so he may not yet be acclimated to his new team's playbook. When fully up to speed, Davis could immediately contribute as a punt returner and depth wideout in Miami.

  • Trevor Davis: Cut loose by Raiders

The Raiders waived Davis on Monday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.

Acquired from the Packers on Sept. 18 for a 2020 sixth-round pick, Davis didn't pan out in his time in the Bay Area. His role on offense has been mostly non-existent since Week 8, and he lost his second fumble in the silver and black on a punt return this past Sunday in Kansas City. Overall, he's averaged 22.3 yards per kick return and 10.6 yards per punt return in his career, so he may draw some interest on the waiver wire.

  • Dolphins' Trevor Davis: Scooped by Dolphins

The Dolphins claimed Davis off waivers from the Raiders on Tuesday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.

The Dolphins continue to be quite active on the waiver wire, and Davis will land on his third team of the season. Green Bay's 2016 fifth-round pick played two games for the Packers and nine for Oakland this season before heading to Miami. He'll serve an immediate need with the Dolphins as a returner since Jakeem Grant (ankle) is on IR.

  • Raiders' Trevor Davis: Catchless in loss

Davis was unable to bring in either of his two targets during Sunday's 34-3 loss to the Jets.

Sunday's loss continued what is now a four-game catchless streak for Davis. He made a splash in his first two games with Oakland, tallying 116 total yards and a touchdown in Weeks 4 and 5, but he has just 40 total yards since. The Raiders might be in for a shootout Sunday against the Chiefs, but Davis doesn't figure to be much a factor given his recent steep decline.

  • Raiders' Trevor Davis: Plays just one snap in win

Davis played just one offensive snap in Sunday's 31-24 win over Detroit.

With Tyrell Williams back and Zay Jones' recent arrival, Davis has seen his playing time completely disappear. Barring injury, his role will mainly be confined to returning kicks going forward.
