  • Saints' Craig Robertson: Minimal role in 2019

Robertson totaled 27 tackles (20 solo), 1.0 sacks and an interception during the 2019 NFL season.

Encouragingly, he more than doubled his offensive snaps from last season, though Robertson still only took the field for a meager 193. He's seen his playing time and production drop off substantially over the last two seasons, though Robertson will be back in 2020 for the final year of his current deal.

  • Saints' Craig Robertson: Grabs first interception of season

Robertson totaled eight tackles (five solo), one interception and a tackle for a loss in the Saints' 48-46 loss to the 49ers on Sunday.

Robertson saw more playing time in Week 14 with injuries piled up on defense, and he turned the increased snaps into a highly productive afternoon. He contributed the only interception on the day for either team, grabbing a tipped ball in the third quarter. Robertson could be in line for more playing time moving forward after this quality performance.

  • Saints' Craig Robertson: Trending toward start

Robertson is likely to play a starting role during Sunday's contest against the 49ers, John Hendrix reports.

Robertson is playing the part of a starting linebacker during walkthroughs ahead of Sunday's matchup against San Francisco. The North Texas product's chance to contribute on defense comes with both A.J. Klein (knee) and Kiko Alonso (thigh) inactive.

  • Saints' Craig Robertson: Ready to go

Robertson (hamstring) has no injury designation ahead of Sunday's game versus the Saints, Amie Just of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.

Robertson will make his 2019 debut in a revenge game against the Rams. His defensive contributions will be limited behind Demario Davis on the depth chart, but expect Robertson to play a role on special teams.

  • Saints' Craig Robertson: Not playing Monday

Robertson (hamstring) is inactive for Monday's game against the Texans, Luke Johnson of USA Today reports.

Robertson was listed as questionable after being a limited practice participant throughout the week, but he won't suit up for the season opener. The starting defense is unlikely to feel his absence since he played only 88 defensive snaps in 16 games last season.

  • Saints' Craig Robertson: Limited in practice

Robertson (hamstring) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice, Luke Johnson of USA Today reports.

Robertson picked up his hamstring injury during a preseason game against the Chargers. If Robertson is unable to suit up versus the Texans on Monday, the Saints could struggle to provide solid linebacker depth.

  • Saints' Craig Robertson: Dealing with injury

Robertson was forced to leave Sunday's preseason game against the Chargers due to undisclosed reasons, Herbie Teope of Nola.com reports.

It's unclear how Robertson picked up the injury, but the team signed fellow linebacker Will Compton on Wednesday, suggesting it's a more serious issue. While the depth linebacker is sidelined, expect Compton to fill in at the backup middle linebacker postion.

  • Saints' Craig Robertson: Staying with Saints

Robertson is re-signing with New Orleans on a two-year deal, Luke Johnson of The Times-Picayune reports.

The special teams captain elected to stay with the team with which he's spent his last three seasons. In 2018, he accumulated 14 tackles (11 solo), two sacks and one forced fumble primarily playing on special teams. Robertson likely will continue his role as a depth linebacker and a special teams mainstay.

  • Saints' Craig Robertson: Gets first sack of season

Robertson recorded two solo tackles and a sack during Sunday's 48-7 win over the Eagles.

Robertson earned his first sack of the season, as the Saints defense completely dominated Carson Wentz throughout the game. The sixth-year linebacker has just 10 tackles in a depth role and shouldn't be considered in IDP leagues.

  • Saints' Craig Robertson: Modest production in playoff victory

Robertson made five tackles (one solo) in Sunday's 31-26 NFC wild-card win over the Panthers.

Robertson played 66 of the Saints' 74 defensive snaps against Carolina, and he added 12 more on special teams. However, despite the heavy playing time, he was quiet most of the afternoon. After logging a career-best 115 total tackles last year, Robertson has been much less productive in his second season in New Orleans, posting a mere 80 total tackles this year. Still, Robertson remains one of the Saints' starting linebackers and should be at least a decent IDP option in playoff fantasy leagues for next week's divisional-round matchup.

  • Saints' Craig Robertson: First interception of season

Robertson had seven tackles (three solo) and an interception in Sunday's 31-19 win against the Jets.

Robertson continues to play nearly every defensive snap for New Orleans as the Saints' starting outside linebacker. The interception was Robertson's first of the year, but his 66 total tackles rank second on the team. Robertson should continue to be a quality fantasy option in most IDP leagues in a Week 16 matchup versus the Falcons, a team against which he notched eight tackles just a couple of weeks ago.

  • Saints' Craig Robertson: Eight tackles Thursday

Robertson had eight tackles (six solo) in Thursday night's 20-17 loss to the Falcons.

Robertson played nearly every defensive snap in Atlanta, and with 18 tackles, a sack and a fumble recovery over his last three games, he should continue to be a solid option in most IDP leagues.

  • Saints' Craig Robertson: Fumble recovery in Week 13

Robertson had three tackles (two solo) in Sunday's win against the Panthers. He also had a fumble recovery.

In addition to playing 47 of the Saints' 57 defensive snaps (82 percent) Sunday, Robertson also saw eight plays on special teams. On one of those special teams snaps, Robertson was in the right place at the right time to recover a Kaelin Clay fumble on a Panthers punt return. While Robertson's performance this year has been up and down, he's playing a ton of snaps for New Orleans, and his 51 total tackles still ranks fourth on the team, making Robertson worthy of starting consideration in many IDP leagues.

  • Saints' Craig Robertson: Produces in Week 12

Robertson had seven tackles (six solo) and a sack in Sunday's 26-20 loss to the Rams.

After a pair of quiet games, Robertson came through with a solid performance in Los Angeles. Despite seeing only minimal playing time during the first few weeks of the season, Robertson's 48 total tackles on the year now rank third among Saints defenders. The six-year pro should continue to be a high-floor option in most IDP leagues.

  • Saints' Craig Robertson: Quiet in Week 11 win

Robertson had three tackles (one solo) in Sunday's 34-31 win against the Redskins.

Robertson again played every defensive snap for New Orleans, but his production lagged. In fact, the starting outside linebacker has notched just seven total tackles in his last two games combined. Robertson recorded a career-high 115 tackles last year and has some big performances this season (11 tackles in Week 6 against the Lions), so his recent dip in production is difficult to explain. Fantasy owners should probably just hold tight and hope for a rebound performance in Week 12 against the Rams.

  • Saints' Craig Robertson: Productive in Week 7

Robertson had six tackles (five solo) in Sunday's 26-17 win against the Packers.

The linebacker again played every defensive snap for New Orleans, posting another productive performance. With rookie linebacker Alex Anzalone out for the season, Robertson should continue to be a solid source of tackles for IDP owners.

  • Saints' Craig Robertson: Huge game in Week 6

Robertson had 11 tackles (four solo), a sack, a pass defensed, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery in Sunday's 52-38 win against the Lions.

Like many on the Saints defense, Robertson had a huge statistical day against the Lions. On one second-quarter play, Robertson completed the coveted defensive hat trick, recovering his own forced fumble on a sack of quarterback Matthew Stafford. Even though he led the Saints in tackles last season, Robertson's playing time had taken a huge hit with the defense skewing younger this year. However, with rookie linebacker Alex Anzalone suffering a season-ending injury last week, Robertson has seen a huge increase in snaps the last two games. While the veteran linebacker isn't likely to force a ton of turnovers or post huge sack totals, Robertson is a sideline-to-sideline tackler that is now worth owning in many IDP leagues.
