  • Larry Donnell: Released by Ravens

Donnell was released by the Ravens on Friday, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.

Donnell was signed by Baltimore back at the end of July following a disappointing 2016 season with the Giants. His release shows that the Ravens, even with Crockett Gillmore's season-ending knee injury, feel as though they have enough depth at tight end with the likes of Nick Boyle, Ben Watson and Maxx Williams.

  • Ravens' Larry Donnell: Nabs lone target Saturday

Donnell (hand) played 39 snaps in Saturday's preseason game against the Bills.

The veteran tight and had been dealing with a hand injury since early August, but he managed to play nearly 60 percent of Baltimore's offensive snaps in Saturday's dress rehearsal. He hauled in his lone target for a two-yard gain as his only contribution in the passing game.

  • Ravens' Larry Donnell: Injures hand Thursday

Donnell injured his hand in Thursday's practice session, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.

Donnell joins the multitude of injured Ravens tight ends, though his injury isn't as serious as his peers'. He reportedly made a diving catch Thursday and landed on the ball with his fingers underneath it. Though it isn't expected to be a long-term ailment, he could miss some time. Look for Nick Boyle and Vince Mayle to see some added reps in practice as the only healthy backups behind apparent-starter Ben Watson.

  • Ravens' Larry Donnell: Signs contract with Ravens

Donnell signed a contract with the Ravens on Sunday, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.

Donnell had a relatively disappointing 2016 campaign with the Giants -- he pulled in just 15 receptions for 92 yards and a touchdown across 14 games -- which prompted the team to let him walk during free agency. However, with the Ravens losing both Dennis Pitta (hip) and Darren Waller (suspension) for the season, as well as Crockett Gillmore's recent knee injury, Donnell will bring some much-needed depth to the position. He'll battle with the likes of Ben Watson, Nick Boyle and Maxx Williams for time at tight end throughout training camp.

  • Giants' Larry Donnell: Not returning to Giants

Donnell will not be re-signed by the Giants this offseason, NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reports.

Donnell has spent all four of his professional seasons with the Giants, but he's failed to build on his faux-breakthrough 2014 campaign that included 63 catches for 623 yards and six touchdowns. In fact, besides that season, the 28-year-old boasts just 47 catches for 346 yards and three scores in his career. While missing 10 games over the past two seasons has contributed toward that decline in production, Donnell is nonetheless now slated to resume his career elsewhere in 2017.

  • Giants' Larry Donnell: No injury designation

Donnell (illness) does not have an injury designation ahead of Sunday night's game against the Cowboys after fully practicing Friday.

Donnell was sidelined by illness Thursday, but he returned in a full capacity Friday to remove any concern over his Week 14 status.

  • Giants' Larry Donnell: Sits out Thursday with illness

Donnell missed Thursday's practice due to an illness, Ralph Vacchiano of SNY reports.

Donnell has been a fantasy non-entity this season, accruing 15 catches (on 22 targets) for 92 yards and one touchdown in 10 contests. Because he recorded his last reception in Week 7, the illness shouldn't impact his viability, or lack thereof.

  • Giants' Larry Donnell: Limited to eight yards in London

Donnell caught one pass for eight yards in Sunday's win over the Rams.

Donnell has yet to break the 40-yard barrier in an offense that runs through its receiving corps. The Giants' starting tight end has failed to match even his backup, Will Tye's, modest catch and yardage totals and isn't worth a fantasy roster spot at this point.

  • Giants' Larry Donnell: Catches six passes

Donnell caught six of seven targets for 34 yards against the Ravens Sunday.

He was part of Ben McAdoo's dink-and-dunk attack but made a mental error, going out of bounds to stop the clock before getting a first down, forcing the Giants into a 4th-and-1. Still, he's the team's starting tight end for now.
