Byron Marshall: Signs with practice squad
Marshall signed with the Ravens' practice squad Wednesday.
The Ravens have three running backs they're willing to deploy in Mark Ingram, Gus Edwards and Justice Hill, so Marshall's being kept around in case of injury. Marshall hasn't played since the 2018 season with the Redskins when he suited up six games and rushed just three times for nine yards.

Byron Marshall: Bumped off practice squad
Marshall was released from the Bills' practice squad Tuesday.
Marshall joined Buffalo's practice squad Sept. 3 after failing to make Washington's season-opening roster. Senorise Perry was added to the 53-man roster Tuesday, eliminating the need for Marshall on the practice squad.

Byron Marshall: Inks deal with practice squad
Marshall signed with Buffalo's practice squad Tuesday, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.
Marshall actually had a decent preseason for the Redskins with 18 carries for 75 yards (4.5 YPC). However, Washington is set at running back, so the 25-year-old was let go. A spot on the Bills' practice squad is favorable, however, as the team only kept three running backs -- rookie Devin Singletary, journeyman Frank Gore and T.J. Yeldon -- on the 53-man roster. If any injuries surface, Marshall could be the first call-up.

Byron Marshall: Let go by Washington
The Redskins cut Marshall on Sunday, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.
Marshall had initially made the roster following cuts, but became expendable after the team was awarded fellow running back Wendell Smallwood off waivers. Marshall will have his own chance to be claimed off waivers now, but is more likely a candidate for a practice squad spot.

Redskins' Byron Marshall: Picks up 46 yards
Marshall ran for 45 yards on eight carries and added a one-yard catch during Thursday's 20-7 preseason loss to Baltimore.
With Washington looking to get a final look at their depth players, Marshall finished Thursday second on the team with nine touches and led the way with 46 total yards. Marshall is competing with the likes of Samaje Perine for what may be an RB4 job. Marshall had the better game Thursday, but it probably won't be enough for him to make the squad.

Redskins' Byron Marshall: Doesn't get much work
Marshall took three carries for nine yards and four catches for 30 yards in six games with the Redskins in 2018, adding 114 yards on six kickoff returns.
Marshall has spent time in Washington, Philadelphia and Carolina through the first three seasons of his pro career, typically serving as a No. 3/4 running back and occasional return specialist. He's yet to show any of the explosiveness he had at the University of Oregon, and he'll likely land on the roster bubble in 2019, be it in Washington or elsewhere. Marshall can become a restricted free agent during the offseason.

Redskins' Byron Marshall: Gets one touch
Marshall hauled in his lone target for a 17-yard gain and returned two kickoffs for 31 yards in Sunday's 16-13 win over the Jaguars.
Marshall's role as the No. 3 running back was cemented Saturday when the Redskins released Kapri Bibbs. Barring another injury to Chris Thompson, there isn't much room for Marshall to get involved on offense over the final two weeks of the regular season.

Redskins' Byron Marshall: Gets work at end of blowout
Marshall had one carry for four yards and three catches for 13 yards in Sunday's 40-16 loss to the Giants.
Marshall primarily played special teams for the first three quarters, eventually getting some touches on offense to prevent Adrian Peterson and Chris Thompson from taking unnecessary hits in a blowout loss. There isn't any reason to expect more work for Marshall in a Week 15 road game against the Jaguars.

Redskins' Byron Marshall: Gets 17 snaps
Marshall played 17 of 75 snaps (23 percent) on offense in Sunday's 23-21 loss to the Texans, finishing with two carries for five yards and no targets.
Filling in for Samaje Perine (calf/knee) as the No. 3 running back, Marshall returned from injured reserve and unexpectedly got one more snap than Kapri Bibbs, who now has just 27 touches on 125 snaps this season. Marshall is a legitimate threat to take over the passing-down role if Chris Thompson (ribs) misses another game Thursday in Dallas. Of course, it's hard to find cause for optimism with the injury-ravaged Washington offense.

Redskins' Byron Marshall: Officially activated
The Redskins officially activated Marshall (knee) from injured reserve Saturday, Kareem Copeland of The Washington Post reports.
No surprise here, as coach Jay Gruden hinted this was likely to happen. Marshall resumed practicing Oct. 31 and avoided any further setbacks with his knee. The move is somewhat out of necessity, as Chris Thompson (ribs) and Samaje Perine (calf/knee) have been ruled out for Sunday's matchup with the Texans. Thus, Adrian Peterson and Kapri Bibbs will be the only healthy running backs ahead of him on the depth chart.

Redskins' Byron Marshall: Appears set for activation
Coach Jay Gruden suggested Friday that the Redskins would ikely activate Marshall (knee) from injured reserve prior to Sunday's game against the Texans, JP Finlay of NBC Sports Washington reports.
Marshall resumed practicing Oct. 31, so the Redskins would have until Wednesday to decide whether to bring the running back aboard the roster or keep him on IR the rest of the way. With the 24-year-old apparently having avoided any further setbacks with his knee since returning to on-field activities, Washington could be ready to bring him back a few days before that deadline. The team has added incentive to bring Marshall back this weekend with Chris Thompson (ribs) and Samaje Perine (calf/knee) both ruled out for Sunday, leaving Adrian Peterson and Kapri Bibbs as the only healthy running backs on the roster.

Redskins' Byron Marshall: Could be activated off IR soon
Coach Jay Gruden said Marshall (knee) could be activated off injured reserve within the next week or two, John Keim of ESPN.com reports. Marshall resumed practicing with the team Wednesday.
Since Marshall was placed on injured reserve Sept. 2, he'll have been out for the mandatory eight weeks by the time Sunday's game against the Falcons arrives. While his participation in practice gives him a shot to suit up this weekend, the Redskins would probably prefer to wait until Week 10 to add the running back to the active roster. There's a chance Marshall may be needed sooner than desired, however, as fellow backs Chris Thompson (ribs) and Kapri Bibbs (shoulder) aren't locks to be available this weekend.

Redskins' Byron Marshall: Headed for IR
Coach Jay Gruden said Marshall (knee) will be placed on injured reserve, Kareem Copeland of The Washington Post reports.
Marshall reportedly is recovering from ACL and MCL sprains, rather than the ankle injury that was previously reported. Washington kept him on the initial 53-man roster, which means he'll be eligible to return from injured reserve around midseason if he's healthy. The team will have an open spot once the transaction is made.

Redskins' Byron Marshall: Out for a few weeks
Marshall (ankle) will be out for 2-to-4 weeks, Tom Pelissero of NFL.com reports.
Marshall got hurt in the second quarter of Thursday's preseason game against the Jets, shortly after Samaje Perine departed with an ankle injury of his own. Marshall saw his roster odds improve when Derrius Guice suffered an ACL tear, but it now seems the 24-year-old may not be ready for Week 1. Kapri Bibbs would be the obvious beneficiary, as he entered training camp competing with Marshall for the possibility of a single roster spot. Marshall presumably will miss the rest of the preseason, despite getting encouraging feedback from an MRI after Thursday's game.

Redskins' Byron Marshall: MRI comes back clean
Marshall's MRI on his lower leg did not reveal any significant injury according to coach Jay Gruden, JP Finlay of NBC Sports Washington reports
The Washington backfield had some scares Thursday with both Marshall and Samaje Perine leaving the game with injuries. Luckily, both backs are believed to be fine after further examination. Marshall will have a full week to recover before the Redskins' third preseason game.

Redskins' Byron Marshall: Injures leg Thursday
Marshall exited Thursday's game to be evaluated for a lower leg injury.
Marshall had just two carries for one yard prior to his injury. He'll be looking to get back into the game if possible as he looks to secure a depth running back role.
