Texans' Mario Edwards: Officially placed on IR
The Texans placed Edwards (pectoral) on injured reserve Monday.
Edwards suffered a season-ending torn pectoral muscle during Houston's 40-20 win over the Cardinals in Week 15, so his placement on IR is nothing short of expected. With the veteran defensive tackle now sidelined, expect Naquan Jones to operate as the Texans' top rotational option at defensive tackle behind starters Sheldon Rankins and Tommy Togiai.
