Panthers' Anthony Brown: Shifts to IR
The Panthers placed Brown (thumb) on injured reserve Monday, Darin Gantt of the team's official site reports.
Brown left Saturday's 15-12 preseason loss to the Jets with a thumb issue, and it now appears that the injury has landed him on IR. The 30-year-old cornerback was likely fighting for a depth role in the Panthers' secondary, but he'll now be forced to miss all of 2024 unless he and Carolina reach an injury settlement at some point this season.

The 2016 sixth-round pick out of Purdue had his most productive season in 2021 with the Cowboys, when he registered 71 tackles (59 solo), 17 passes defended, three interceptions, one forced fumble and one touchdown across 16 regular-season games.
