Steelers' Cameron Sutton: Starts two games in 2024
Sutton made 15 tackles (seven solo) and three passes defensed across nine regular-season appearances (two starts) with the Steelers in 2024.
Sutton opened the 2024 campaign serving an eight-game suspension, relating to an incident last March in which he was charged with one misdemeanor count of domestic battery. Once eligible to retake the field, Sutton mostly contributed in a depth role for Pittsburgh, though down the stretch he took over a key role at slot cornerback. The 29-year-old will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason.

Steelers' Cameron Sutton: Reinstated from suspension
Sutton was reinstated from his eight-game suspension Tuesday, Alan Saunders of SteelersNow.com reports.
Sutton was served with an eight-game suspension due to a March incident in which he was charged with one misdemeanour count of domestic battery. The Steelers were granted a roster exemption for Sutton through Nov. 4, so the 2017 third-round pick is unlikely to be added to the 53-man roster until after that date. Sutton will give Pittsburgh additional depth in the secondary behind Joey Porter, Donte Jackson and Beanie Bishop.

Steelers' Cameron Sutton: Suspended eight games
Sutton has been suspended the first eight games of the 2024 regular season for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports.
Sutton's suspension relates to a March incident in which he was charged with one misdemeanor count of domestic battery. The veteran cornerback, who previously played for the Steelers from 2017 through 2022 before a one-year stint with Detroit last season, will be eligible for reinstatement after Pittsburgh's game against the Giants in Week 8. Once reinstated, he could mix in as a rotational player in the Steelers secondary.

Steelers' Cameron Sutton: Rejoining Pittsburgh
Sutton agreed to a contract with the Steelers on Wednesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
He previously spent six years with the Steelers after they drafted him in the third round in 2017. Sutton signed a three-year contract with the Lions last offseason and started all 17 regular-season games, but he was frequently picked on by quarterbacks and later released in March amid reports of a warrant being out for his arrest. Sutton eventually turned himself in to Florida police and was charged with a misdemeanor count of domestic battery.

Cameron Sutton: Appears in court

Per the report, Sutton was charged with one misdemeanor count of domestic battery stemming from an incident last month that led to an arrest warrant. Since then, the Lions released the cornerback, who appeared in 17 regular-season games with Detroit in 2023 and recorded 65 tackles and an interception.

Lions' Cameron Sutton: Underwhelming in Detroit
Sutton recorded 65 tackles, six passes defended including one interception and one forced fumble over 17 regular-season games in 2023.
Detroit made Sutton one of the top-20 most highly paid cornerbacks in the league last season, but didn't exactly get a great return on their investment. While he continued to be reliable from a health standpoint, he played a large role in a secondary that allowed the sixth-most passing touchdowns (28), the sixth-most passing yards per game (247.4), and the most passing plays of 20-plus yards (69) in 2023. Under contract for at least one more season before the Lions could realistically part ways with him, Sutton should get every chance to re-establish himself next season, but it wouldn't be a surprise if Detroit tries to upgrade at outside cornerback during the offseason.
