Texans' Justin Britt: Moves to reserve list
The Texans placed Britt (personal) on their reserve/non-football illness list Tuesday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
Britt is scheduled to be away from the team indefinitely for personal reasons after he also missed Sunday's contest against the Broncos. The 31-year-old center's placement on the Texans' reserve/non-football illness list gives him time to work through his individual situation, per Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com. In the meantime, Scott Quessenberry, who started at center and played 100 percent of the team's snaps in Week 2, is expected to continue handling starting duties while Britt remains absent.

Texans' Justin Britt: Return unknown
Britt's (personal) return date is unknown as of Monday according to head coach Lovie Smith, Brooks Kubena of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Britt won't play Sunday against the Broncos for personal reasons, Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com reports.
Britt played every snap during the Texans' Week 1 tie against the Colts, but he'll be held off the field for Week 2. It's not yet clear whether he'll be able to return for the team's Week 3 matchup against Chicago on Sept. 25, but Scott Quessenberry will serve as Houston's starting center against Denver.

Britt agreed to a two-year, $9 million contract with the Texans on Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com reports.
Britt spent time on the reserve/COVID-19 list and injured reserve with a knee issue last season but still started 11 games up front for Houston. The 30-year-old opted to forgo free agency and re-sign with the Texans, and he's set to be they're starting center again in 2022.
