Dolphins' Brandon Watts: Reverts to IR
Watts (back) reverted to injured reserve Sunday.
The Dolphins' decision to keep Watts around after he cleared waivers isn't surprising, considering their affinity for his upside. He will, however, have to sit out the 2017 regular season.

Brandon Watts: Waived by Miami
Watts (back) was waived/injured by Miami on Saturday, Adam Beasley of the Miami Herald reports.
If Watts were healthy, there is a good chance he would've made the team, as the Dolphins are woefully thin at linebacker. The team may elect to bring him back once he does fully recover from the back injury.

Dolphins' Brandon Watts: Suffers back injury
Watts missed practice Sunday due to a back injury, Adam Beasley of the Miami Herald reports.
There is no word yet as to the severity of the injury or for how long Watts may be out of practice. The Dolphins have had several injuries at linebacker over the past few weeks, so if Watts can get healthy and make the team he could be in for more playing time than initially expected as a backup.

Vikings' Brandon Watts: Records seven tackles Thursday
Watts recorded seven tackles in the Vikings' final preseason game.
Watts sat out the team's first two preseason contests with an undisclosed injury and only saw limited action in the third game, not recording any tackles. It remains to be seen if he'll make the 53-man roster, if he does it'll likely be due to special teams play rather than for his linebacker play, since he's played with the third team defense.

Vikings' Brandon Watts: Skips second straight practice Wednesday
Watts did not participate in the team's joint practice with the Bengals on Wednesday, his second straight absence from practice, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Head coach Mike Zimmer indicated that he didn't want to bring any injured players to Paul Brown Stadium but didn't suggest that any of the injuries would result in extended time away from the field. A reserve linebacker, Watts could certainly use all of the reps he can get to prove he belongs on the 53-man roster, but the 25-year-old will likely make his biggest mark on special teams.

Vikings' Brandon Watts: Two tackles in expanded role
Watts had two tackles and played just 23 snaps at weak-side linebacker in Sunday's win at Oakland.
Watts started at weak-side linebacker with Chad Greenway moving to middle linebacker while Eric Kendricks out with a rib injury. However, Watts has been coming off the field in nickel and passing situations, which limits his fantasy value.

Vikings' Brandon Watts: Takes over at middle linebacker
Watts had two tackles and took over as the starting middle linebacker after Audie Cole suffered a broken ankle in the fourth quarter of Sunday's win over St. Louis, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Cole got the start at middle linebacker with Eric Kendricks out due to a rib injury. It sounds like Kendricks could return next week. If not, Watts would likely start with Cole not expected to play again this season.
