One day removed from predicting the diagnosis, head coach Rex Ryan confirmed the news Saturday. The injury has sealed Dowling's fate for the 2016 season.

Dowling, who was on the Active/Non-Football Illness list when camp began this weekend, returned to practice Monday after passing his physical, BuffaloBills.com reports.
Dowling, a seventh-round pick of the Raiders in 2014, will try to make the Bills as a special teams player and reserve defensive back.
