Leonard reached an injury settlement with Washington during final roster cuts in order to avoid spending the year on injured reserve. It is unclear what issue he was dealing with, but his work out with the Falcons indicates he is over it.

Leonard (undisclosed) cleared waivers Friday after he was waived from Washington's injured reserve with an injury settlement Thursday.
Leonard would have been forced to miss the entire 2021 campaign since he was placed on IR prior to Sept. 1. However, he'll be eligible to take the field if he lands a contract with another team this year.

Leonard (undisclosed) cleared waivers and reverted to Washington's injured reserve Wednesday, independent NFL journalist Aaron Wilson reports.
The 2018 fourth-round pick has yet to make his NFL debut, which is unlikely to happen this season after he reverted to injured reserve. Leonard will need to reach an injury settlement with the team to have a chance of seeing the field in 2021.
