  • Rams' Myles Garrett: DNP on Sunday

Garrett (knee) did not participate in Sunday's practice, Gary Klein of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Garrett was not dressed for practice Sunday and was working off to the side with trainers. The Defensive Player of the Year's chances at a repeat award jumped today as the Rams announced that Aaron Donald was returning to the team on a one-year $20 million deal. It is unclear when Garrett will return to practice, but if the team waits much longer to get him back in pads, there is a chance he will miss the Week 1 divisional matchup with the 49ers on Thursday, Sept. 10.

  • Rams' Myles Garrett: Doesn't practice Monday

Garrett (knee) did not participate in Monday's training camp practice, Stu Jackson of the Rams' official site reports.

Garrett has been held out of practice for the last couple of weeks while recovering from swelling in his knee. He's unlikely to play in Thursday's preseason finale against the Chargers, but he still has time to progress enough in his recovery to be cleared to play Week 1 against the 49ers on Thursday, Sept. 10.

  • Rams' Myles Garrett: May not practice this week

Coach Sean McVay said Monday that Garrett may not participate in practice this week, Greg Beacham of the Associated Press reports.

Garrett sat out last Tuesday's joint practice with the Cowboys due to swelling in his knee, and while he was spotted working on the side Thursday, he was a DNP for this past Saturday's preseason contest at Kansas City. The Rams will continue to take a cautious approach with their biggest offseason prize to ensure he's as healthy as possible for a Week 1 matchup with the 49ers in Melbourne, Australia on Thursday, Sept. 10.

  • Rams' Myles Garrett: Getting work with training staff

Garrett (knee) is working on a side field with trainers at practice Thursday, Sarah Barshop of ESPN.com reports.

Garrett and Puka Nacua (groin) are getting in a star-studded side session Thursday as they work their way back from their respective injuries. Both standout contributors are expected to be available well before the Rams kick off regular-season play Sept. 10 against the 49ers, but Garrett is unlikely to suit up for Saturday's preseason opener against the Chiefs.

  • Rams' Myles Garrett: Dealing with swelling in knee

Coach Sean McVay said after Tuesday's joint practice with the Cowboys that Garrett didn't take part due to swelling in his knee, Lindsey Thiry of ESPN.com reports.

Garrett missed some time early in training camp due to what McVay called "soreness in his lower half," per Sarah Barshop of ESPN.com, and the location of the injury is now known. McVay added Tuesday that Garrett is "85 percent." Garrett still has a month to get back to full health before the Rams' Week 1 matchup with the 49ers in Melbourne, Australia.

Garrett (lower body) participated in the Rams' training camp Wednesday, Gary Klein of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Garrett made his return to the field after having been sidelined for the last several practice sessions due to a lower-body injury. The 2017 first-round pick was traded to Los Angeles from Cleveland earlier in the offseason and will look to bolster the Rams' pass rush during the upcoming campaign.

  • Rams' Myles Garrett: Sidelined at practice

Garrett (lower body) didn't participate in the Rams' practice Sunday, Sarah Barshop of ESPN.com reports.

Garrett has missed the team's last three sessions as he continues to deal with lower-body soreness. While the 29-year-old is expected to be sidelined for Monday's practice as well, head coach Sean McVay said the injury isn't serious and Garrett should be back for the next practice block.
