Browns' DeAndre Carter: Sidelined for weeks
Head coach Kevin Stefanski told reporters Monday that Carter (knee) will miss "weeks," Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com reports.
Cleveland's top kick and punt returner sustained a knee injury in the Browns' 34-10 loss to the Lions on Sunday and will now be sidelined for the coming weeks. Carter had already tallied 274 kick-return and 56 punt-return yards over just four games, so this could be a huge loss to the Browns' special-teams unit. Jerome Ford will likely be the primary kickoff returner in Carter's absence, while wideouts Isaiah Bond and Kaden Davis, currently on the practice squad, could also see increased duties on special teams.

Browns' DeAndre Carter: Lands on IR
The Browns placed Carter (knee) on injured reserve Monday, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Carter -- who has been Cleveland's top returner on kickoffs and punts -- sustained a knee injury during the Browns' 34-10 loss to the Lions on Sunday. He will now be forced to miss at least the next four games and will be first eligible to be reinstated from IR ahead of the Browns' Week 10 clash against the Jets on Sunday, Nov. 9. Jerome Ford, Kaden Davis and undrafted rookie Isaiah Bond are the top candidates to assume return duties in Carter's absence.

Browns' DeAndre Carter: Dealing with knee injury
Head coach Kevin Stefanski relayed that Carter suffered a knee injury during the Browns' 34-10 loss to the Lions on Sunday, Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com reports.
Carter will undergo further tests to determine the severity of the injury, and his practice participation will provide clarity on his status heading into the Browns' Week 5 clash against the Vikings on Sunday, Oct. 5 in London. Carter turned five kickoff returns into 129 yards in Sunday's loss, and his absence would open the door for undrafted rookie Isaiah Bond to take over return duties.

Carter is being evaluated for a concussion and is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Ravens.

Browns' DeAndre Carter: Makes lone preseason appearance
Carter returned three punts for 32 yards and one kickoff for 10 yards in Saturday's 19-17 preseason win over the Rams.
Carter, who sat out the first two preseason games, made his lone appearance this summer. His experience as a returner makes him the favorite to claim a return job, but the 53-man roster projection from Zac Jackson of The Athletic puts him on the bubble. Undrafted rookie Gage Larvadain had a strong camp as a receiver and also returned punts during preseason competition. The Browns could leave Carter off the initial 53-man roster and then bring him back after sorting out other issues.
